hi everyone...stupid question:

what time (in GMT) does the NFP report come out?

back in march, i assumed 08:30 EST was 13:30 GMT following EST = GMT - 5

but now in my metatrader platform it says NFP in June 2006 was released at 14:30 GMT leading me to believe NY is GMT -6.

OTOH, at the forex factory calendar, if i click my time zone as GMT-5, it shows the 08:30 EST reports (unemployment, NFP, GDP) as 07:30 leading me to believe NY is GMT - 4.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

On the Calendar here at FF you can select GMT for news times.

EST is not in daylight savings time right now, thats why it is an hour different than you remembered...

Hi Dice,

Can get a bit confusing can't it

I ended up buying a cheap clock and setting it to GMT

Works for me
