Is there a calculation to figure the following:

A 18 EMA on a 4hr chart is equal to what EMA on a 1hr chart?

Is it simply a matter of multiplying 18 * 4 for the same EMA?

Couldn't you just use the search? Yes it is 18*4=72.

See the chart in the thread above. So moving averages which are calculated to be same aren't exactly the same in practise.

It isn't just a matter of multiplying for EMAs - that would work for a simple moving average but would not give an exact value for an exponential MA.

I attach an indicator that will display the exact value of a 4 hour EMA on any chart timeframe.

Put this indicator & the 72EMA on your 1hr chart - you can then decide if the 72EMA is acceptable to you.
