{quote} Oh! you've been here... good to know. Makati City is a good place, especially Greenbelt area. There are other cool places nearby like the one where I grew up, called Bonifacio Global City, part of military base camp before. I live near that place as my father is a Vietnam & Korean war veteran. If ever you come here again, just let know... but not in too distant future ; )- unless you have a very important business that you need to be here. Why? ---The President here formally declared a state of lawlessness in the country because Abu Sayyaf...

{quote} {quote} No worries, I was just recommending labeling source materials you're cutting and pasting here when you post them. (by the way, I'm not recommending Frank Ochoa. I think the company he works for, Nirvana Systems is a rip off. I would recommend reading Toby Crabel though, the person whose system he copied.) Maybe I'm having a hard time understanding your English, but you said "If hold below pp target S! take half profit on median. Just like what I thought of... Cafe Havana, frequented by like minded people who enjoys drinks, music and good conversation which gets even better if you stayed till past midnight ; )- I used to bring my Indian and Greek colleague there back in my working days in Makati. The Embassy in the Fort was one of the early structures that was built there. At these time, the place is being monitored for party drugs. Yes, Davao is a nice place, nearby is Samal island. I went to a 1,000-foot-long Monfort Bat Cave, a home to about 2.4 million bats. It made the Guinness Book of World Records. Then I went to a fresh water swim at Hagimit falls... after that, I tried a slide high up the cliff down to ocean. Then finally stayed at Hof Gorei Beach Resort. Around 16 years ago one of my friends told me about trading and that captured my interest so I started on demos clean charts and did reasonably well for about a year then I opened my first account with 10 k. I figured thats it I will be self-employed and my life will be awesome. Things did not work out that way. My first mistake was that I thought I could be self- employed on a 10 k account. My second mistake was thinking that 1 lot is ok leverage on 10 k. Well it is not ok! Things went reasonably well for about 3 month of trading live then 1 lot...

Hi V2V, It looks like you have taken first 6 candles of one hour chart to derive the initial balance. is that correct or we should look for first one hour using 15min chart? please correct me as i'm getting confused here.

I don't understand what you guys are calculation using the chart above.

What does the BLUE boxes denote and what signal is the ORANGE rectangle giving to traders.

I love your analysis but will really love to understand its usage and interpretations; for trading decision making.

{quote} I am assuming your charts shows the opening range at the start of the day i.e The Initial Balance Range established from the first hour of trading based on daily pivot point being set on standard Eastern to show the day open. So the IB is from the Low to the High from the first hour of the open. I normally gauge this using 15 bar charts.
Ignored
Hi Dennis, You had mentioned here that the IB is calculated using the High to the Low of first hour from the open. so when you use the 15min chart, then it consist of 4 candles, rite? Is IB calculated always using ONLY one hour or it can be any number of hours? is there a logic behind it please?

Hi Yes, i use 4 x 15 bars

Different traders have different preferences for different indices. I find IB first hour is pretty much just the right amount of time to nail the play by play for the rest of the day.

As a trader I pretty much only trade UJ from the start line, and only board on to EU as opposite to expand profits when in my favor.

but as base I make my living of UJ. When loosing i mostly double down on EU same play to balance out. However theres a lot more to it then that will cover that part later

thanks Dennis. When we take the first hour to derive the IB, the range (high and low) of this first hour will be very thin due to the start hour of the day, so is that enough to use as IB and trade the rest of the day based on it? Sorry if i'm asking too many dumb questions... i'm just making my self clear on the base....

Please see the attached screenshot. I plotted the IB box on a M15 chart in order to identify Highs & Lows within the said session time frame.

#1 (During Asian Session: NY closed/Sydney-Tokyo Open)
#2 (During London/EU Session: Sydney/Tokyo Open - Sydney-Tokyo Closed

I think, you have a freedom on how many candle bars you would like to plot your highs & lows (moderate or aggressive approach)

First Open Relationship In Range and In Value {image}
Ignored
Hey Dennis, reading through p.87 in Secrets of a Pivot Boss book, please can I ask you a quick question:

for example today on AUDUSD the market opened above Fridays pivot range, inside its price range and in value, so this would make todays AUDUSD is the first relationship; In Range and In Value

(Price opens within range and value, market sentiment has not changed from the prior session.)

Please do I understand the type of relationship correctly? Thank you in advance!
