Hi all,

I'm looking for a reputable broker that supports Ninjatrader as a platform. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am based in the UK. Thanks
Im in the same boat... I spoke to NT and they keep directing me to FXCM, no way in hell im joining that broker.
Anyone? Has anybody had traded with Interactive Brokers using NinjaTrader and what are your thoughts?

As you have said yourself, you are looking for a reputable broker that supports NinjaTrader, and NinjaTrader themselves have directed you to us when you asked.

Is there anything I can do to address your concerns?

Right off the bat, you shouldn't use Ninja Trader for real trading. The software company itself is not reputable and I am talking from personal experience. It has nice graphics, nice backtesting facility and a good collection of indicators so it's a good software to use for demo trading and backtesting ONLY. It's NOT even good for watching prices because you can get nasty spike candles in the middle of the price feed that screws up your entire indicator.

Once you decide to trade for real, you need to find another software. It's NOT worth it to waste your money with those jokers. Remember it's your business and every single cent counts. It's already hard to enough to make consistent profit in forex trading, you can't afford to watch your profit erode away because of bad software like Ninja Trader which is what happened to me. I have lost thousands of $$'s of profit after deciding to give them a chance and paid hundreds of $$'s for a real trading license. My experience is all documented there and you will see I am not the only who had horrible experience with that software. It's caused a lot of headaches and heartaches and burned huge holes in the pockets of many of us.

And mind you it's the company NOT the software that sucks. All the horrible crap with the software is NOT the result of the limitation of the software but the stupidity and the business philosophy of whoever is running that company. Honestly if somebody is able to take over that company and run it well, Ninja Trader could become one of, if not the top trading software in the world. It's a good piece of software that's got a lot of potential but in the hands of the current management, it's slowly decaying away which is a great shame.

What trading software do you use? Do you recommend against using Ninjatrader for futures as well? Now that IB is gone, I'm not sure I trust any of the remaining US brokers, and may just stick to futures.

IB should still be around for futures just not in spot forex which is a GREAT loss to US forex traders. For trading software, I recommend Sierra Chart. Imagine you get all of that and you only pay $18 a month and you get a crap of software Ninja Trader and they dare charge you $180 for 3 months! Go read reviews about Sierra Charts and you will see that I am not the only one who's happy with their service.

Actually Sierra Charts does NOT host anything on their server. They are a software and that's it. They function EXACTLY the same way as Ninja Trader in that they are only a "data/trading service broadcaster" as Ninja Trader would call it. Basically, it's your broker and/or data service that you subscribe to that provides all the data and/or trading services, they pass them to Sierra Charts and Sierra Charts just disseminate it to you via their software. Now this is where it gets interesting. Since Sierra Charts broadcast the same data as Ninja Trader if they happen to support it, WHY would the SAME data let's say from Rithmic display perfectly fine and fast on Sierra Charts and yet becomes spiky and super slow and inaccurate when it was disseminated by Ninja Trader? And there is a lot of problems with Rithmic data through Ninja Trader if you read the thread that I posted in my previous post #6 here. Granted that if there is a problem with the data displayed, it would be the problem with the data service provider, in this case Rithmic and not Ninja Trader but WHY would the SAME data from Rithmic be displayed perfectly fine on Sierra Charts software? Rithmic giving Ninja Trader bad data on purpose? And guess what is the solution that Ninja Trader proposes to resolve these data issue? Spend another several hundred $$'s with them to subscribe to their own "recommended" data service which they guarantee would have no problems. LOL Major hmmmnnn's here don't you think?

Thanks for your insight Forexia... I will be testing Axiory with cTrader and LMAX with Sierra Charts for the next couple of weeks.

You did confirm my statement.Everything is hosted at sierra, everything goes through sierra server.
The sierra client connect to sierra server, and the sierra server doing things for you. Your trade never hit rithmic directly, it will hit the sierra server first, and then sierra place the trade on your behalf.
Of course you can believe for the sierra support they are harmless, that is up to you, but I would not pay to sell my own orderflow.

Rithmic is NOT a broker just so you know. It's a data provider and to get data from Rithmic, yes you do have to pay Rithmic NOT Sierra Charts to get data. You are only paying Sierra Charts to use their software. And when your trading signal on Sierra Charts are triggered that resulted in a trade, of course that trade gets sent to the broker that's supported by Sierra Charts and resides on the broker's server for it to execute. Sierra Charts is NOT a broker so WHY would it want to keep your trade and execute your trades? I don't understand how pointing this out shows that Sierra Charts hosts things on their server?

If you prefer to manually put in the trade directly with your broker that's fine. But for those of us who wants to trade via an external trading software perhaps using automated trading system/strategy, all I am saying is Sierra Charts is a really good choice vs the joke of Ninja Trader, that's all.

I would copy the same again:
The sierra client connect to sierra server, and the sierra server doing things for you. Your trade never hit rithmic (or your broker) directly, it will hit the sierra server first, and then sierra place the trade on your behalf.
The main point: All your trading activity is going through sierra server. You do not have direct connection to your broker. If you still want to promote them, that is up to you.

cTrader is good. I have used it before as well but just want to caution you on one thing. cTrader still does provide brokers a lot of "customization capabilities" in terms of trade executions and price displays from the cTrader's side whereas Sierra Charts is completely independent, what you see and do is what you get with no possibilities from your broker of interfering in anyway of how the trade is being handled while on Sierra side. Once it's transmitted to the broker's server then it's up to the broker. And also cTrader's C# programming capabilities is quite limited, a lot of features and functions that you want for your system might not be able to be programmed in cTrader simply because it's being made available by cTrader's flavour of C#.

Yes I still want to, I am not promoting them, just share my experience with Sierra Charts with people upon their request. And like I said before and I will copy here again as well:

In case of sierra, trade to not go to the broker, the trade go to sierra server.

What is normal: Trading client -> Broker -> Exchange
What is not normal: Trading Client (Sierra) -> ***3rd party server (Sierra)*** -> Broker -> Exchange

Well if you are providing a trading software that I want to use, sure I wouldn't mind having my trades going through your server either but yours is not and Sierra Charts is a good trading software that I use to trade so it is normal for trades to go through their server to be executed.

Anyway I don't think you understand how trading software and/or their server works and what kind of service does trading software company provide so if you don't feel comfortable that your trades go through a trading software's server, don't use a trading software. Trade directly with your broker.

But for those of us who wants to trade via an external trading software perhaps using automated trading system/strategy, all I am saying is Sierra Charts is a really good choice vs the joke of Ninja Trader, that's all.
