GJ, you've banged on about money management and risk management all day, looking at your TE from today you've made 14% on one trade from 12 pips - I would love to see how that trade would fit into any sort of risk profile.

Maybe he entry opposite from their system

This question is important but can also be easily explained...

If you have a close SL you would be fine with risk management for example..

The question is, would it help.... Depth of market...

It can definitely be useful, especially when scalping.

But beyond that, I think it'd be nice just from a transparency perspective so you can actually see Oanda's book.

Since I am a reformed trader, I will take my time and explain to you my money management. Have a look at this chart.

Do you see two dotted lines?
One of those orders is that of the 12 pips which you mentioned. Roughly risking 1% per pip.

Since I am using FIBS, my STOP LOSS and TAKE PROFITS are clearly highlighted.

I took the sell once the price closed at or below the Order 2/3 fib (139.059)

My stop loss was the FIB LEVEL which was above it called ENTRY 1 (139.134)

The moment I entered the trade, I had a hard stop loss 2 pips above the 139.134 fib making it 139.154

So if we do some simple math, I was risking 10% of my account to make the 12 pips which you mentioned.

Not only is my R:R more than 1:1 but my REAL r:r ended up being 1:10 Sooooooooooooooo

Accuracy is the name of my system. It has nothing to do with how many pips you earn, but everythiong to do with how accurate your entry is, thus allowing you to risk x amount per pip. Infact, if you read my past post, I mentioned that on certain formations I wager from .01 - 2% of my account per pip!

Below you can see how "accurate" my entry was. As the price dropped another 50 pips from the price I entered in at.

I hope this answers your question and next time before asking me, take the time to open your 1m chart and see how accurate the trade actually was! Money/risk management was picture perfect on that trade.

Very impressive entry, 10% risk on a 12 pip SL on GJ is crazy in my eyes. But we all have different strategies I suppose.

PS. Not sure how me opening a 1m chart would have allowed me to 'figure out' what you just explained.

Shows a "hedge" (which is not apart of my system). I wanted to add to the 1.00 short making it a 2% p/l per pip but clicked the wrong button on c-trader. I closed the hedge for a small loss and the price continued to drop. That hedge close is seen here on my equity curve.

So most people will look at the equity curve and say something like "OMG LOOK AT THAT DROP" not noticing how to read the closed trades in order to see what happened. Luckly I am here to show you guys, because most of you guys only know theory and don't have any actual experience in trading. Anyway, another green day for this system, DAILY porfit is higher than the max drawdown on the day and the account is moving in the right direction.

Sadly what is crazy to you means 0 to me As I mentioned before, I am a scalper who scalps for accuracy not for profit! Most would be happy to make 5% on a trade even if they give up prior to closing the trade 25% of their account! Your expected R:R REAL R:R and profit is what matters and all three on this trade was excellent.

Expected R:R was 1:1 <--- it always is the same because of the fibs.
REAL R:R was 1:10 meaning for every 1 pip i entered in red on the open position, I made 10 pips.
Profit was 16%

Max drawdown in pips on that trade was only 1.6 pips not including spread.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for you not knowing how to open a 1m chart and calculate those three stats, reveals that you should post less on FF and do more charting! I am not being rude but just giving you some sound advice. Now run along and play as I am sure you have some Pokemon to go and catch!

Ok mate. You're a prize prat. I'm done with this thread. Go back to trading your 500 account acting like a big man. Your risk management is shocking, your attitude is worse. I wouldn't wish someone to blow their account and I won't you, but I look forward to Geppy destroying you in this challenge. Silly little man

Nice recovery, Geppy. TBH I thought you were trading like a madman yesterday. Wasn't sure what was going on. But, it's your game and I was content to just sit back and watch. Glad I kept my mouth shut. LOL!

Seriously though, really nice recovery from that crazy gap up at market open Sunday night.

GJscalper, incredible profits for two days. I don't think you are risking too much, I think most just cannot comprehend trading on a short term chart. They see everything as 50-100 pip stops minimum. That cannot see the strong potential of short term trading. Metatrader stops at a 1 min chart. When the markets are moving well, I love a 10 second chart.

I am really enjoying the competition. Looking forward to watching it over the next several months.

looks like Geppys challenge is teaching you that people are not here to steal your golden goose and it is OK to share. Inviting your fellow traders to piss on graves is a shameful characteristic you alone can understand.
Finally you have stopped telling folks to F-off and are explaining your trading like a mature person with some empathy and respect for your fellow trader, congratulations. Don’t know where your hatred came from but glad to see it leaving you. Good work Geppy

Thank you you very much for you input. As for my risk being high, I'd agree that is compared to many other traders and systems which are used, However because I have a certain expectancy as for how many losses in a row this system will give, the risk are tailered around that. In other words, and I am not saying you don't understand what it is I am saying, but most people are ok with losing 20% of their account on 500% where as I am ok with losing say 10% of my account on 15 pips. Most would say that the "risk" is insane because it is only 15 pips, but what people don't understand is how the money management and the trading system actually work together. I take trades based on an expected accuracy of entry. I have spent the last 5 years of my trading career trying to master being accurate, and I feel as if I have a hang of it now, thus making my system public for everyone to see.
@GJscalper I've turned a new leaf. No more trolling.

Geppy! thanks for the entertaining thread, lol

Wish you success...

I'm curious about how the winner is declared. Percent gains? Or is it assumed that one or the other will eventually blow their account, making the other trader the winner?

Assuming neither account is blown, the winner would be the best performer over a 12-month period.
