i guess 80 percent or maybe higher of the traders who want to trade during the referendum are scalpers just like me...

but i have a feeling that tells me:nothing happens.all of the brokers are ready and they don`t want to experience another swiss tragedy.

this is all nonsense. you should trade at this volatile time. and you should have gone long on cable a few days ago. iam currently up 400 points. who caares about price gaps, spreads etc.

Margin is just margin, you can still trade even if they need more margin, most of the time i have 95% of my margin availlable.
a 400:1 leverage is a lot of leverage, so even if they let you trade with only 20:1 or 50:1 it's still way enough.

Time to pull out your wallet and deposit funds again. Will catch up with you tomorrow

If you've not voted yet, vote on the basis of democracy, crony capitalism and power (on all three counts, I'm out). Immigration is a complete red herring in this debate. And incidentally I love the EU nations, I just think the governance and pace of the EU shows it's past its sell by date and time to embrace a faster moving global outlook.

Like you give a toss, OK, so to trading it...

1) GU 1.4401 is the key reference price here (the price pre-announcement).

2) If it's goodbye EU, hello world (Brexit)... then be braced for potential interventions in the coming hours, days from BoE, and ECB. BoE have already made statements ahead of this event they have the liquidity and necessary ammunition to step in if things get hairy.

3) what does hairy mean? Consensus is for around drop of GBP of around 15-20% - that's 1.2870 to around 1.2330 (currently at 1.481). BoE knows not to stop the devaluation but it will limit volatility. In plain English - if it falls like a stone then rockets up - fade it.

4) watch CHF. SNB already said they'll intervene to stop chf rising (ie to stop USDCHF falling). Longs only.

5) Finally, timing... options suggesting around 10% move over 1 month. Don't read too much into it, but gives you a rough speed.
