Recently, the key, for those planning to jump on the bandwagon is to sit tight for some 15 min to 1h after the release and check how the actual and the revision (if such) is affecting the dow futures and the NYSE open. Then go for it on the carry trades.

For instance: a good NFP can wane the recession sentiment, driving stocks up, carries up and GU up in extension (although the expected move would be down). If you jump the gun in this case, you will feel fried like a chicken in an hour.

This is what I've observed recently, not what I've done or plan to do today.
