saw what I thought was a little pin (but the nose was way too short)
oscillator was starting to hook (but didnt close with a hook).

so I jumped the gun on this one

I'll let it play out and see what happens.

heya, just wondering why you have different colored backgrounds on a few of your charts? have you just changed over time or do you have different colors for different pairs?

Hi Supermatt,
I use different colors because sometimes my eyes feel tired and the white background hurts my eyes. So I have recently dropped back to a black background. No other reason. :-)

Thanks Andante9,

Yes, the results are consistent, month after month for over a year now. This journal has really helped me believe in myself.

I think that's been an important part of my journey.

Best wishes
Stewart

I think you have every right to believe in yourself. You have proven to yourself (and, in fact, the whole world!) that you have a sound strategy!
Keep up what you are doing and do not deviate!

Another excellent indication that you are on the right track is that all the usual FF trolls are not here saying that you are on the wrong track and will fail etc.

Pay no mind that your journal thread is not followed by many. The path to success is narrow and most will opt to take the beaten path.

Dan

exited at -18 pips for 0.3R loss

didn't like the bullish 4 hour pin and the oscillator turning bullish so I just dumped the trade rather than live in hope.

feels good to be out of that trade.

Hi stewart

Have your ever considered using entry orders to get filled at better price?

If we use stop losses and take profits, then why not entry orders?

Nothing is harder than a begining.

Hi Chicky,
Yes. I sometimes use the 38% or 50% retracement of the trigger candle. Overall I dont think it makes a lot of difference. I dont think there is precision mathematics to my trading. Rather, for me, its about seeing support/resistance and having some confirmations s/r is going to hold (price action and oscillator).

Some of my trades are 'blind'. I just place a limit order and wait for it to be hit. Those are the most fun trades, but they are very agressive so I leave them for my aggressive account.

Pull back to resistance + fib + pin bar + oscillator at extreme

Short on break of pin bar.
