Wow! You know what? I've looked at this run through strategy tester and IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE IT'S DOING WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DOING!!!

Well done!

I'd be curious to know what Mr Remon's opinion is of this and see what he things?

BIG KUDOS DUDE!

First of all thanks to Khalil for his efforts and generousity making the EA test version of this complex strategy!

I have run a very limited visual backtest, but I don't understand what those trade closures in "empty space" mean...

This is due to using CLOSE_BY function of mt4 where it closes a Buy against a Sell saving the spread on one of them. It makes a big difference compared to regular CLOSE function, specially since we have huge number of trades.

Hi ChicagoRob
What is the plans if candle D1 end reversed than we expect? Close orders at the end of the day? Or let other pairs do the job?
Thanx

{quote} Hi Bomax, I am a big fan of the EA I have attached to this post. It seems to be the most reliable in my opinion. We still need to have a successful part 2 of the strategy programmed somewhere but in the mean time part 1 of this thread's strategy stands strong on its own. Feel free to PM me is you want any assistance for anything, whether it is about this EA, other EAs general forex trading (manual or automatic). I am always happy to chat with fellow forex traders. It is all about helping each other out in an already hard area of expertise....

Candle reversal is always a possibility. I'm going to close my trades at the end of the day. I plan
on running two or three pairs as a hedge(hoping I don't guess wrong on each pair!).

Hi Bazze,

At the moment I am testing different settings to analyze profits and DD for Jan 2015 - Present in strategy tester.

I have successfully tested the grid steps of 500 and 1000 at a trade lot of 0.01 and a min TP of 1 on the EURAUD.

The purpose of this is to see how much less DD are we looking at in wider grid scenario and how much profit are we losing out by doing this.

I wasn't going to share these results until I played around with different TP levels as I suspect different results at different TP levels as of the TP level is set higher, the PA will go more towards the middle of the grid while taking out out bottom losers in the hedged grid.

Since you are asking, I share my settings above as well here are the results attached.

You really need to ignore that final drop at the end of the test as when the test period ends, all open positions close and does not replicate the real life scenario of the EA which would just keep running in the PA market.

As you can notice, in the 1000 step grid, we have cut the DD by approximately 2/3rds suffering profits to make about 1/3rd less in the same test period.

Personally, I am testing the small account scenario for those who can't trade live with a lot of money. I rather have low DD of around £451.70 to achieve £1632 than to tie up so much more money to handle 1360.62 DD to achieve 2473 in the same period.

If you do the maths, by using a larger grid size, a lower DD means you can trade more lots and achieve more profit. For an account of 1000, I would have achieved £3264 in the 1000 step sized grid by trading 0.02 lots doubling my TP settings. In the 500 step sized grid, the account would have blown just by trading 0.01 lot.

I've said it before. There is no real need to have all these positions in the middle. Lower your DD with a wider grid size and it might give you room to increase your lot size. Definitely risks to look at here!

Best Regards,

Daniel

Wao Khalil, my friend (meaning of Khalil) What can i say, absolutely fantastic job. Thank u for your time and effort, and the amazing job u have done. So greatfull.
I hve tested all versions and surprisingly the first one u have posted seems more stable, the final version blows accounts starting from 1000 or 2000$ while with the same settings and same starting balance the very first version does not blow. For some reason its more suitable for small accounts. And iam amazed by the results. Thank u once again for ur time and effort.
