Hmmm. We'll see. There has been a strong retracement from the lows at 149.89 to 150.39 now though. I am still looking for more downside though

I've had enough for the week, closed all xxx/jpy shorts. Will see what next week brings. Many green pips to all!

Personally I would be very cautious with longs, depending on your timeframe of course. I think we are sitting on a key level ATM on my weekly chart, I was looking for a decisive break of that line during London but it didn't happen with U/J, hence closing all xxx/jpy for the week taking the profit and running, i can always jump back in once they sort out my weekly line, other crosses like G/J have broken my lower boundary (but it can be a wild witch) and reverse quickly. My monthly chart both can go lower to reach its lower boundary without breaking out of the monthly ranges. The flip side to all my rambling is price rejects my weekly line and we head back up towards 160? Best bet, trade what you see happening on your timeframe.

The USDJPY price action on the daily time frame is in a bearish mode. Price action in the past few days have rejected the 155.400 horizontal resistance. On Friday, price action significantly broke down the 150.810 horizontal support and threatened the 149.200 horizontal support. A bearish follow-through is technically favoured but we may see a northward liquidity sweep before a southward turnaround.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

My trend time frame is weekly. The domnant technical structure on the W1 is bullish. But presently the technical operation is within a rising channel.

Absolutely, it looks bearish. I feel it will surge more by the time Trump gets into power because of his strict tariff policies which can increase USD against JPY. I’m keeping an eye on the next move.
With President Trump taking office next month, is it just a matter of time before the dollar strengthens again and hits 160 yen per dollar?
The Fed may assume that there is no need to rush to cut interest rates as a measure to deal with the administration.
