ActivTrades broker opinions

Hello everyone,

I am about to open a new account and would like to ask some information and opinion about the ActivTrades broker. As far as I can see they are in UK (I am UK resident), properly regulated and they offer CFDs, commodities, indices and spread betting as well.
Is the spread as tight as they state? What about slippage, requotes etc...

The account would be for position trading but I also do manual intraday trading and scalping every now and then.

Please share your experience and opinion!

Hi! Activtrades is a good broker..since 14 years in the market..have more than 35,000 clients. No any complaints or bad reviews I read about them. I have got live account with them, never had problem. Spreads are tight, less slippage, no requotes. Good for scalping and intraday. I just don't like their current website,not impressive.

Thanks Aquiline, I think I'll give it go. I could not find bad reviews, they seem like a decent broker. Swap rates are not too bad either...

Hi, I recently opened a new account with activtrades as i wanted to switch from fxcm, ive had no problems with them, so far so good spreads are reasonable no requotes or anything like that. the only thing is i havent tried to withdraw any funds from them yet so we'll see if thats a smooth process.

I opened 1 month ago real MT5 eur account with them because Alpari UK closed down (stil waiting 4 my money!!).
So far they are great, quick e-mail response, they also phoned me (i am from slovenia- neighbour of italy, austria hungary and croatia, we are part of EU).
They did not have any losses on CHF on 15.1. and they are in UK, regulated and also have some kind of bonuses in points which you get with every trade and at some point you choose a reward (iphones, ipades etc).
I like their policy about leverage, margin, there is no commision (i trade only currency (eurusd, eurgbp...), no bonds or coffee or oil..)...read all about in their web.

Many my forex friends are sceptic about ActivTrades, most of them, including me, are stuck in alpari...and they are waiting, but I didn not, because I need new broker anyway, so why or for what to wait ? CHF and looser broker are gone, game over, for long time if you ask me.
But, I live 4 forex, I trade every day, at different hours, depends on data and my day...

I say go for ActivTrades, they are ok, for me are and hope that stays like that in the future...

Hello again.
Now I also make a withdrawl. No charges on amount like by Alpari, quick response by email, no complications at all.
I do go for them 101% and I am glad I choose them instadt some Cyper broker...

rookie question here.
i would like to ask you all using ActivTrades broker,
ive just opened a live account on them and my spreads are around the 30-40 range yesterday.
are yours the same or do they vary?

i'v compared spreads with a script between various european mt5 brokers and looks like activtrades is the best
the attached pictures shows the spreads of 1minute chart usdjpy on mt5 demo accounts of activtrades,fxpro,alpari russia, forextime and swissquote.
You have to divide those spreads by 10

In the last period .... it's impossible to trade CFD's with Active Trades....

Ger30Jun15 reach in some moments 5 points spread... it's ridiculous and not serious !!!

I am trading only fx pairs like eurusd, eurgbp, euraud, audusd or nzdusd.
No CFD or anything with commision.

An there is no problem for me with them at all.

Activtrades is a good broker with a spread of 0.8 pips on EUR/USD and USD/JPY. This is verry good and the execution time is also verry fast.

And there is no blackout of system or disconnection from server or we in big news events like FOMC, Dragi, Yellen etc speaking.
At least I have no such problems and I do trade on events all the time.

Is anyone having difficulty with their Crude feed freezing?

So I had to change but I kept a very good opinion about ActivTrades.

Nah not me, my crude is LCrudeJul15. Make sure you update your profile with the latest contract because they expire at the end of each month.

I've been considering Activtrades too as they seem to have a number of pros like:
- Decent spreads
- FCA regulation
- Negative balance protection
- Client money protection up to 500k
- Spread betting on offer
- No re-quotes

I've read about a few issues with execution times here and there but I only trade the daily chart these days so I don't think this would be much of a concern to me.
If your looking for CFD only accounts though there are probably better brokers out there.

Sometimes during bussy hours, the connection close and then you cannot close or enter trades. I this this has to do with server capacity?

What is their type?
