What is the best indicator/method you have found to indicate wheter a price was going to higher or lower still?

Price is your best indicator.

Yes, offcourse. But after much study/review there does seem to be a "maxima" - the maxima varying from time to time. Is there any indicator which reasonably clearly shows wheter the price is likely to continue increasing/descreasing still?

Imo, these are indicators showing changes in supply and demand or volume of trades..Have you tried accumulation/distribution index?

You need a true Daily and weekly avarage calculations and Strength indicators based on corellation to predict that

Like this one.. Strength , Speed (volatilty) moving the pair. If there is not enough distance doesnt matter it will hit on the wall. So you need to know how much pair moving in a day and in a week. It will change your results dramatically
