hi every one
just to ask what is the best way to monitor the main trend (up/down) on the daily time frame.

i use fisher indicator (10days) do you have any better way for monitoring the changing in the main trend ?!!

I agree, your eyes are as good as it can get. Having said that, you could look at a medium speed MA. 20 to 50 range, keeping in mind that one of the uses of MA's is to track trend but also to measure what I would call relativity. In other words, where is price in relationship to the MA (a dog on a leash). A person doesn't have to take countertrend trades when price stretches far beyond the MA, exiting a trade is always an option. If your trend trading, your not trying to catch tops and bottoms so the MA works about as good anything.

Pick a number and teach yourself how it looks over a period of time. So long as your consistent with a number, you'll begin to see the extremes and nuances of price against an MA on your chart. The big thing is, pick a number and stick with it. If you are constantly changing it you'll be wasting your time. EVERY indicator has it's limitation due to the fact that your applying a single number to an ever changing beast.

Amen to that. If you need an indicator to see the trend then I'd say go back to the drawing board.
One simple way-look at the price on the left of the chart. Look at the price on the right of the chart. Is the price on the right hand side higher or lower than the price on the left?

They call it Trand Line , trand as trand or trand as daily movement up or down of next candle ... thats big dif ...
Simply use your eyes. However, if you really need an indicator for that I would suggest a longterm MA.

Hey guys,

Signal Trend Lite

Not sure it's the best indicator to monitor the long term trend, but I find it easy and quite accurate to use. When the indicator is above the price (Red line), there is a downward trend. And if you see the blue line, there is an upward trend.

I usually trade with EU and Gold. You guys can give it a try. It's free and no repaint of course

I think it will give more accurate forecast of the trend if used with other indicators. Any idea about this?
