So as of today Liteforex is not providing any of the LFX indexes anymore. My whole strategy was based on these indexes so for me this is just a terrible day.
FXCM is still providing a dollar index, but other currency indexes such as EUR, GBP, AUD are nowhere to be found.

If anyone please can come with a suggestion this is much appreciated. I need these indexes on MT4 because NT does not approve certain indi's I use on those indexes. Thank you.
Hi, Robertk ..... my strategy was affected too, by liteforex's decision to remove the indexes coz they don't want traders to use them as guide, i think.

Try GCI MT4, but they don't provide USD index.

Lfx indexes formula is not secret, maybe someone can make these mt4 indicators ?

USDLFX = ((USDCHF * USDJPY * USDCAD) / (EURUSD * GBPUSD * AUDUSD))^(1/7)
EURLFX = USDLFX * EURUSD
GBPLFX = USDLFX * GBPUSD
etc....
Same here. Been trading those indices as a strategy element and now they are gone.
So far, i've not seen any other broker carrying those indices. I'm sure there are many others who are in the soup as well and all are looking for the solution.

One way around is to have a very good Broker and to co-ordinate with him in developing these indices from scratch. That's a long shot.
Another way is to use the LFX formula and come up with a price point for each individual index, one by one. In this case, the visuals still go for a toss.

@ RobertK : Hello There. Can you please confirm if the USD index provided by FXCM has the same price data as of LiteForex? Also can you please confirm if Liteforex had given any prior warning for this?

I think we should stick together on this and work out the various ways to counter this situation.

i think that the solution will be to create an Ea that will create offline charts using the formulas from liteforex.
Yes, this is a sad day for us who have worked endlessly on creating a strategy using these indices. I will stay tuned to this thread for any new info. Likewise, If I come across useful info I will also post here. After four years of theorizing, analyzing, and practicing forex trading there is a little in me that says its time to pack it in! As in the past though, I will continue pursuing this dream of mine.

FXCM uses a different weighting formula. Fact sheet simply states EUR/USD, GBP/USD, AUD/USD, JPY/USD being equally weighted but that's pretty much it.
Personally I think Okday's and kingofmicro's solution would be the most realistic for now although one cannot put indicators on top of the chart/indi in this case.

While you can trade USDOLLAR with FXCM, it's also possible to chart USDX on the FXCM platform if you download the free custom indicator for the ICE Dollar Index. (shown above)

Why ? Because, LFX instruments are transparent and calculated.

I’m looking now, USDLFX 1,7947 and EURLFX 2,3072. Let’s together calculate EURUSD;

EURUSD : EURLFX / USDLFX
2,3072 / 1,7947 = 1,28556304674876

Is it right ? Right ! Also not 5 digit, full 14 digit.
This method can calculate all major and crosses pairs ( jpy & usd not including. but jpy & usd transparent and calculated )

Well ! How can I trade your $ index ? How it Works stand-alone ?

Exactly my thought. What kingofmicro described helps tremendously in calculating values for each currency pair by checking the different indexes. One cannot do that at FXCM's dollar index/ICE because there is no formula given/no solid counterpart. Thank you for taking your time and informing us by the way.

There is a Dow Jones FXCM Yen Index (ticker: DJFXJPY) but it's not tradable like USDOLLAR.

I openend a demo account with them after reading your post. However their index charts look totally different from the Liteforex index charts.
I compared them to forexticket.com and they are not the same. I made some screenshots for you too see the difference.

Woohoo, I just wanted to let you know that the Liteforex feed seems to be back up and running.
FXtradeweb also has Currency Indices on there website - http://www.fxtradeweb.com/Basket-Live-Eur.html

They have all the majors as well as a few others - Volatility Index, Commodity Index, Metals Index etc...

Its a pretty useful tool as you can also overlay any FX pair against an Index & track correlations and performance

The cross overs are good for trade confirmations and signals!

All the calculations and Index weightings are listed on the page for those who want to drill down into the maths

Liteforex are still providing the quotes for currency indices just that clients can't trade them anymore.
