I would have said the same. IB offers a wide range of products including futures and is very competitive.
If you look for other brokers, you can go to the website of Multicharts and go to the supported brokers section. You will have a list of futures brokers you can look at.

MT4 brokers don't have any futures trading, not even in gold, silver, oil, etc....
The gold, silver, oil, etc... you're trading with an MT4 broker is a CFD product & NOT futures.
I don't know of any broker that has CFD products like corn, beans, wheat, sugar, coffee, etc... but some have CFDs for equities (S&P, Germany DAX, etc.).

Srt is totally right that it is CFDs and not the futures.
Some popular products like wheat, corn, oil, gas, copper, 10 year us et german debt and others are often available with mt4 brokers.
I know Oanda, ThinkForex and FxPrimus have these products available for example...

I has to be noted that it enables you to trade far smaller amounts than with the actual futures.

Yes they are CFD products I understand that.

Thank you Mevo for the info as well. You guys are awesome.

I've been looking at ninja trader and WOOoohhh its very hard to understand. Keep putting orders in dom wrong. Mt4 much easier.

I do own Track n Trade but Lans brokerage kind of sucks. Not used TnT in 7 years.

I second what's been recommended so far. Here's a bit about the platforms, since they are important considerations when selecting a broker:

After using IB, TS, and NT, all are great. If you need access to "easy" coding or more complex market tools, scanners, and indis without the fuss, then TS is your best bet. Their EasyLanguage is great if you don't know any coding, and a pain if you do. You'll have to teach yourself their new language no matter what level of coding experience you have. The monthly fee for using their platform is ridiculous, but some people swear that TS is worth the fee. If you want to keep commission fees low and have access to any market, IB is a great fit. Be warned, the IB charting software is abysmal. It's clunky, featureless, and in need of a serious makeover. If you decide on IB, I recommend using a different platform for charting. IB offers several API crossover options. For example, it's possible to use the NT platform with IB.

NT is the MT4 of the futures world. It's very accessible and rather easy to use for coding. You can pretty much find whatever indi/EA you're looking for. Most futures brokers support NT. You can do almost everything in NT as you can do in TS with some coding and time. Using NT means you get access to a wide variety of futures brokers.

In my opinion, IB is the best broker overall, with NT being the best platform. Learning Ninjascript isn't a real challenge if you know MQL4 or Java. However, Ninjascript is more syntactically sensitive than MQL4. If you find NT too daunting, TS is likely the best choice. I don't know your account size but be sure to watch out for some of their more subtle fees, if that could pose an issue to you.

Best,

NinjaTrader Brokerage is the best broker and platform. Straight to the source one stop shop and cheap commissions.

I'll stick with ninja. Just need to learn it. Been using mt4 so long that NT is like a strange beast. LOL

I just need to learn the DOM. Stop putting orders in wrong. Course I'm demo still.

Thx everyone for your inputs

I use Ninja with IB. Agree that IB has poor charts but low commissions is hard to pass up so Ninja takes care of that problem.

I think it's best to remove the DOM (unless you like to watch order flow) and use the chart trader. Very nice to see exactly where your orders are right on the chart so your not trying to match numbers on the DOM to the chart.

I have a feeling that since Ninja just started there own brokerage firm, they're going to lose some of the futures partners they have so might have to change your broker in the future including IB. They're taking business from there own partners so might not look right to the partners.
