THANK YOU auto. I was embrassed to request that you removed the delay, I understand you were trying hard to give us a great free product, but you also need to make some sales. This is really great news. I shall try it out with creating the alternative path into mt4 for the log files, and check to see whether the trade entries would be made into this alternative path instead. Although once this alternative path is created, copier will not output 5004 error and continues to write trade entries into mt4 data folder, "MQL/File" folder and copies the trade properly.

Will keep u up to date with any issues I may encountered. But I will stick to lot proportion. I have not purposely tested such that mt4 may create non divisible lot (eg 0.07) (* its possible to divide 0.7 if smallest lot increment is 0.01). I hoped u hv included logic to properly close that out, then orphan out a odd 0.01 lot on mt4 or worst close this orphan (rounded off) lot after 1 sec of realising its not on sender's list of trades anymore.

I gave up on best logic to take care of partial close b/w sender and receiver, but perhaps a logic can be included to ensure that lot size created on mt4 is divisible by 2 without any remainder. That will make synching easier?

PS: One of the commercial mt5 to mt4 copier did not include RM, only LM for the same reason I have stated earlier. Although the mt4i personal trade copier (from mt4 to mt4) has RM all along and this issue must have been taken care for mt4 trade copy. Is there a way to peel the mt4i trade copier to take a peek into its logic of handling partial closure? Maybe helpful to give some ideas.

Hello my friend.

When you change the terminal path, I advise you to remove the trade copier first from both of your MT 5 and MT 4 terminal and then reattach to charts for complete initialization with old variables.

Sometime, MT 5 and MT 4 terminals tends to remember the old variables in their memories if the EA is not detached from your chart. This would help.


Plus after I saw your post, I checked couple of web site for other commercial MT 5 to MT 4 Trade copier. It seems that they are very costly and expensive.

is copyinterval adjustable? what will it do? What I am afraid is overloading the copier, it seems to work better my experts log suggests that there is a small time lapse of abt 300ms. (which is abt same as copyinterval default settings).
What is the best settings for this parm w/o killing the copier or overloading the mt4? (whilst mt4 has been known to kill itself with too much chart reading/etc, mt5 has not much issue on this)

Yes, you are right. At a default, it uses 300 milliseconds (1 second = 1000 millisecond).
I believe that with 300 milliseconds setting I could use the trade copier even with some high frequency scalping EA. And I did not notice a lot of lagging between my MT 5 and MT 4 platforms.

You can try 100 milliseconds. It shall work. However it is certainly not recommended to use 1 millisecond or 0.01 millisecond. They may overload your MT 4 platform.

Is there a possibility to trigger when there is trade details uploaded much like mt4i personal trade copier, instead of setting of copyinterval? (I guess this interval allows the EA to poll (read) the load to find new details). Mt4i copier works by some sort of trigger action not by time, thus, whenever there is new trades, updated sl/tp it will trigger

It would also be fants if u could leave the current open trades alone when RM/LM is changed. Currently if RM/LM is changed when there is an open trade, EA will partial closed the open trade and reopen proportionately. Its the same logic as MQL5 signals. RM/LM shld only affect NEW trades.

(both are small issues, copier is working great, I got ONE mt5 to 2 mt4). The copier also works on live accts in mt4, not sure rgds whether it works for live mt5, i guess it does. On the issue of 5004 error, once I created the alternative path within the c:\program files instead of the data folder path, and make sure attach sender, then receiver, it works well, trade logs are written into this alternative path.

On issue of leaving other trades not related to its own, its working very well, it leave it alone, even though I hv eurusd trades for both different senders, one is from mt5, and one from mt4 (using mt4i personal trade copier, mt4 to mt4). It would be neat if you could output the sender's trade ID# into comment field so that its easier to track the results b/w sender and receiver. Pls consider have a magic number field (4 digits w/o decimal) for me to input (on the m4 receiver EA) so that is easy to analyze the profitability of a signal/strategy/ea. If magic number is not given a random number is generated for tracking of its own trades. The random number is always tie to that specific sender (maybe used sender acct#, the possibility of having same acct# is very rare)

Good to hear that you can are successfully using this Trade Copier even for two Meta Trader 4 platform. That is superb.

I am also using it for several month without any problem.

Also my other customers are all happy with this trade copier.

On the other day, I set my trade copier EA on MT 5 strategy tester and MT 4 strategy tester, actually I was able to back test MT 5 multi currency pairs strategy on
MT 4 terminal. As long as you copy the terminal path of MT 4 correctly, you can actually back test your MT 5 strategy in MT 4 terminal using this trade copier.

But you have to start both strategy tester at the same time.

I guess no one will ever try this. I only did it as I was only curious. ......

Just let you know that there is time limit with this Demo version. So soon it will stop working.

Please let me know if you want to have unlimited version for your live account. It is far far cheaper than other vendors Trade Copier and this is very useful software to have it if you have some money making EA in Meta Trader 5.

I made few modification for the trade copier. So I will upload newer version now.

You can now set your own magic number and your own comment for each Meta Trader 4 positions.

Note that there is words limit for the order comment, so try to avoid really long comment for your order. It is the same for order magic number too.

With live version, you can use unlimited time and you can also enter International Meta Trader 4 trading contest or trading competition using your Meta Trader 5 expert advisors.

No problem at all. Originally I created this trade copier to enter the international Meta Trader 4 trading competition using Meta Trader 5 Expert advisor. As the back testing facility in meta trader 5 is superb in comparison to Meta trader 4. I still think Meta Trader 4 is great however Meta Trader 4 does not use multi core processor in back testing. So very slow in optimziation. With this trade copier my coding work reduced to half as I don't have to do any more coding in MT 4. It is great relief.

Hi all,
sorry for my english first and good evening all here.
I have a problem with the Mt4i and hope someone can help me out.
I have to MT4 accounts and in one run a EA now i will copy the trades CFDs US30Index to the other one because the timetables from the broker are different.
is it posible to run mt4i + my own Ea in one MT4?
if yes how i install it corect.

If u talking rgds mt4i for mt4 YES its possible to run the copier AND another EA. Make sure that this other EA does not use SAME magic number that you can assign to the copier on the receiver mt4

On sender mt4, you can set magic number, symbols, comments to filter trade to receiver mt4. This sender's magic number refers to the magic number that the EA that was trading on sender generates

On receiver mt4, you can set magic number (NOT the same as sender, its meant for receiver own trade management routine and for trade analysis, it is NOT SAME as the sender's EA magic number), symbols, suffix and comments

In order to check for magic numbers, link your mt4 to myfxbook, then enable that column so that you can see that. Usually commercial EA may use a 4-10 digit magic number. Just assign a 2 digit magic number to the receiver for that trade copy and you should be ok. U can also just let the receiver creates its own magic number, its not a must to assign it. If you assign a magic number and it happens to crash with another EA's magic number this other EA can and will kill your trades. Similarly, the receiver EA will also killed the other's EA trades! YOU ARE HEREBY WARNED :nerd:

To Install
======
1) Download latest copy of the mt4i trade copier, earlier version will NEVER work on v600+ mt4
2) Place sender on sending mt4 (or master mt4)
3) Place receiver on receiving mt4 (or slave mt4)
4) Place your other EA on another chart. That is, ONE ea ONE chart, any timeframe

4. If terminal path does not work due to UAC problem, then create alternative path on your hard drive.

5. 99% chance you will not need custom mapping. However if you really have to use it, then read the manual on how to use them.

Thanks for your interest in my MT5 to MT4 Trade Copier. You question is very interesting one too.

With current version, it is not possible to reverse buy => sell and sell=> buy. However, as far as I know that is not too difficult to handle.

So I will say it is possible. However let me ask you once more, do you really need to convert Buy => Sell and Sell => Buy ?

I mean, will this bring you some profit in Forex trading seriously ?

It seems like you want to connect two Meta Trader 5 to single Meta Trader 4 account.
Read simple rule below.

1 Meta Trader 5 terminal will correspond to 1 chart in your Meta Trader 4 terminal.

Therefore to connect two MT5 terminal to your MT 4 terminal. You just need 2 charts in your MT4 terminal (not two terminal).
Also you have set Sender ID 0 for your first MT5 and set Sender ID 1 for your second MT5.

These Sender ID 0 and Sender ID 1 need to match with ConnectedSenderID 0 and 1 in your MT4 charts.

If you get error then just remove Trade copier from your chart and try again.

It should work.
