Oh, my bad. The ''m14'' chart it's a 15 seconds timeframe, i thought it would be easy to recognize looking at stochastics and ADX. I use the seconds charts for entries, energy, eventually some scalping and entertainment lol. We are currently in a wedge breakout on the Weekly and Daily Charts, the ADX is strong on MN to Daily, all pointing up. In a retracement mode with the H4 and lower Tf's. We have ADX compression on H1 to the lower timeframes. After several "loads" or wave creation, that included the M15, some m5 and m1 charts, i think we are ready to resume the trend. We also have another wedge on the H1 and lower charts, but that would be the same as an ADX compression or BB squeeze. Perhaps some of those lower compressions will still become more money loading, that would delay the uptrend but we would also have a stronger move. We are also at the bottom of a H4 trendline, we can't be trusting trendlines all the time of course, but i have several other things at my side and this is another thing to consider. The H4 charts is in a bbs, with the Ds separating, and since the DS repaints, i usually don't wait for a good separation before i look for entries. Several times, like on this H1 previous trend, if you were waiting for the space between them you would be late for the move.

The way i trade i don't usually worry about having some positions underwater because i add up on the leverage with several buy or sell stops, breaking even with tight stop losses and increasing the overall stop loss size over time so that i build up good positions on the long run. That's why i always look for breakout.

This is my view of this pair that i have following for quite some time if you go look at my previous posts, of course i could be wrong, but that would not hurt me at all hehe.

can you explain how you decide to add up positions ? The money management is something on what i didn't work enough at this time. I've seen our Master Alien doing the same but i don't see the reason behind.
If i see new entries on lower timeframes i can understand that you want to re-entry, but why put 20 trades every 2 pips when you know that the highest ones have more chances to begin near a retracement ?

I don't know on what is based your bottom green trendline on h4 and it seems strange to me.
But i must admit i don't use trendline which tell you what you want to see most of the time cuz everybody can draw them as he wants to.
You know it's like support and resistance, i'm always amused to see some people put 20 S/R meaningless (which are just simple peaks) on a 150 pips height chart

I agree, it's what i've learned with large ranging trend and support/resistance in general, you can't afford to wait to break the S/R all the time and you must enter at the middle of the range sometimes

we really agree on that, the h4 DS begins to look nice, that's what i will monitor, hope we'll have soon a DS trade entry breaking the red rectangle on the image below ( but on this one i think we can wait to approach more the resistance, then perhaps wait a little retracement and then enter on break, suspens, suspens )

I didn't take it that way, sorry if my reply made you think that i was annoyed Alien friend.

The reason for adding up positions was because i had a target and seeing a great breakout to come, so if i manage to do a break even on those trades, why not increase them even more? The risk/reward becomes so great. On a breakout like this, even if it's happening on a daily or weekly charts, as far as i know, you can't be picking every dip on lower timeframes to add positions, the "retracements" that are more like rests on this types of moves are so small, the adx 7 on the H4, dips for like 50-80 pips, and this is the big ones. And if i have a target in mind, i don't need to be in front of the computer to get my positions, i just let it go and pick them for me. ALSO, the breakouts happens too fast, and goes for 80-100 pips in just a few seconds, we can't react fast enough, i just prefer to let them be automated.

And yes, the DDS repaints, and that isn't an issue for me, it does what it needs to when we need it haha. For an example, this previous trend on the H1, the DDS was compressed together at the top with the Rsioma, but after the move it repainted like it had droped to the bottom of the window.

The auto trendline there, is the regular trendline indicator that alien used at the beginning of the thread, it helps to see the next move sometimes, just another indi for our pack. I agree that we shouldn't be entering inside ranges, but if you look far away enough, like MN, or some 4 months, a year timeframe, everything would be in a range. Inside BB's are swings, are trends and so on, if we can play it correctly there is no harm hehe. Breakouts are also confirmed inside the BB's, that's why they happens.

That rectangle of yours would be a good time to enter too, the ADX should have shown it's face by then, but i always like to enter early, or right on time.

I think your way of trading gives a really better risk/reward ratio since you take early of moves and so is surely more pleasant but will lead to many more mistakes and can let a place to emotions.

You get a point, my true problem is that my plateform freezing when it moves too quickly (at economic news,etc.) don't know if it's my computer (or for everyone who has not NASA computer) but it's a big problem.

i've never seen that, repainting indi' are against my religion btw ^^ (when i see zigzag in some templates i have shivers ahah)
what version are you using ? Cuz i promise you, Delay Stoch is not repainting, i'll give you the good one if needed

doda on M5 is about to cross his signal but not yet starting to go up,that's not a good sign, so perhaps we'll have to wait other waves to break this range

Now, on the target that i was talking about, i also think like you, i don't have a specific target, an exact number, i might have an idea, like 1000 pips or so, and i also use the waves, the ADX 89 and 144 turning down in 2 timeframes, or Rsioma turning into retracement mode on H4 and Daily. So in this case, i'm not stop buying as long as they go, that would be my target, why waste pips if i trust the "target" or the range of the movement? And for the freezing issue that you get, the stop orders would help with this also, since it works like stop losses or take profit, as far as i know, you don't need to have a estabilished connection for them to be triggered, and if you use another EA to place a stop loss on each of those stop orders, you would be very "safe" even when offline or not present.

Now i'll make other post on the DDS repaiting. Be right back o/

Here is a quote from Alien on this, post 19,243. The DDS needs to repaint, it's part of it's nature and help us get the whole picture, a non repaiting version would not help us much. Let me give you some examples, in those cases it's repaiting to the other way, it's "shrinking".

Here is a turn on the H4 that i called some months ago, this repainted not long after, i'm just showing now for example, first picture with link was in the present, in november, by the time of the move, and second picture is now, after the energy of the turn has gone. I don't need this info anymore because i use other things to know that it's over, but it helped me start thinking this way when i started to notice this change.

This is another turn on the H1, and also the confirmation for the W1 bbs compression breakout that happened on this past month. See how it is small now but still has some more to go? Again, i don't use this alone for the info that this breakout long is not over yet, but it helps to get the bias and teachs.

We all trade a bit different here, i'm just showing what works for me hehe . Breakouts with ADX are my favorite way of trading.

as you've said, it changes my way to trade this system too, now that i know that i'll be less strict on level of doda...

2 things come to my mind:

1) i'll be less frustrated cuz i'll can trades more often than in backtest ( since doda gap are more often there in reality)
2) BUT at which level it rises bad entries, wrong signals ?? Btw, after repainting we still see some good doda trades,
so the idea of a non repainting looks still nice to me

i go back study before making other mistakes, i'll be back ! ^^

You are welcome Alien friend, don't be so hard on yourself, we are all here to learn forever. And also keep in mind that this way of trading that i'm most of the time trying to show here doesn't work all the time, i mean, you might try to apply it on other market condition and something different may happen. Not every DS will repaint, not every compression is a bottom, not every adx expansion is energy or breakout. Some are momentum, some are "nothing". Some DS separations are for rubber bands, some are for breakouts, some are to do nothing and sit on our hands. We need to recognize what the pairs are doing, in what conditions it is and in what timeframe so we can make the correct decision. Don't throw away what you have learned so far, keep using it, refine it, see what works and what doesn't, this is what i do all the time too. Some things that i say could be just half correct, sometimes not correct at all but still works, sometimes right in reverse (LOL), and others right on the spot. I just need to keep trying and evolving. Experience and changing our way of thinking.

Mistakes, yes, this is what we need to do, make tons mistakes, this is how we learn. I have millions os mistakes and i'll make more and more until i learn everything that i have to learn. All types of trading and conditions.

yes don't worry i'll not throw my 30 Word's page system because i make a mistake on an indicator, 99% of what i've learned is still valid (and i'm not even sure it will really change something in my strategy) but that's an important "detail" you refreshed me which learns to me to not be too rigorist on my DDS rules since its level is not 100% reliable,

Yes, nice, just some tweaks here and there adding up to all that we know. But keep using it, your non repanting DDS, your levels and such. Why don't add both versions of them to your chart and compare the results over time? I would do this hehe

i don't find non repainting DDS , a young member of this forum tried in 2015 but he was a beginner coder so his indi was still repainting,
if a coder could do it , it would be really great cuz i prefer see imperfections of a indi and use it knowing them than use a indicator repainting and throwing me snake oil !

But i'm not a coder and i don't know how works the DDs (the formulas/logic behind,etc.), so perhaps it's just interesting in its way of predicting new wave in a movement and so non repainting would be meaningless. I don't know :/

Don't worry about the repainting, it's just different market conditions. Think like this: it repaints when it needs to repaint, when we need it to repaint. There is nothing imperfect about it : ). And it also doesn't repaint when we need it to not repaint. Is it making sense? haha

A DS separation could mean so many things, the answers is always to look at all the timeframes together , the distant past, the near past and the present, to get a picture of the future. It's our job to know what it might be telling us. I like this alot
