Supernova GBP/JPY Mini Trend Catcher

Attached are the release notes compiled from this thread for the SuperNova EA for the newcomers. They are listed in reverse order with latest version notes first. Should be fairly self explanatory but you will probably need to read all the way to the end.

Maybe some veterans can answer any questions.

I am testing beta edition of the supernova ea on a demo account, but all my trades are losses, please can somebody asist me with a setfile for an account of $2000.

Try this one on a 4 hour chart. Use attached template if you like as well. I'm trading this on multiple pairs in demo and it works fairly well.

Change the .txt extension to .set

I am very grateful for this; just one more question do i need to change any this on the set file. I notice the lot size was showing 1.0 is that okay for an account with demo account with $2000. I am sorry if i ask dump question; it is because I am still new to forex trading.

You can use an account of any size. Just set the "use risk managment" input to true. Then set "Risk Percent" to your tolerance level. (2.0% is the most widely used...that's proper MM). It will adjust the lot sizes automatically.

No. It's set to use Risk Management which is set for 3%. That overrides the fixed lot setting. You can change if you like but it won't affect.

I do not think one can use the same darfactor constantly for say a pair since the value must always be adjusted. On one pair, the darfactor was impressive, but then this week, it would have been terrible to trade using the darfactor alone - it was very misleading.

Hi, someone else noticed the same thing i did that the darfactor of 3.5 does not work well with all traded curriencies and I was wondering if someone had played around with the settings of this to get the best results for each pair traded.
Thanks Newera for the tpl. I'm not sure I want to use the ea, but I am getting the hang of the manual trading. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like we want to go in the direction of the psar and the t3, when the HA crosses the t3 in the same direction. That is to say, if the price is above a rising t3, we can go long. Just thinking out loud here, but then if the t3 is crossed we can get out. When the t3 turns down and HA crosses in that direction, we can go short. The qqe alert arrows help us be aware of trades along the way too. I don't think we even have to watch indicator windows beyond that. Of course, without using the ea one has to watch the charts or set targets. Then again, I may be way off base here. Anyway, thanks again.

Attached is the chart I am using now on the 1hour for the Gbp/Jpy. I read somewhere that the Gann (set at the 3 level) gives a good signal with the HA, so I tried it. It seems to have a slight edge over the T3, though the T3 works well. I am just a demo trader so please do not think that I have credentials like Cryten, Gnat, or others here. Its just an observation for you to consider and offer feedback. Plus, this is a great thread and I really like the exchange of ideas here. Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

is this the way to trade?following colour changes blindly on a chart.i think stress and spreads may trip you up over the long term.i follow this thread with interest because early on in my forex career a chap called erol was flogging the qqe and gann hilo as his own handmade indicators and as a new boy on the block how mislead i was.but they do work, but only with a sound knowledge of the financial markets and news and sentiment and money management and daily weekly monthly pivots and momentum in the market and not if a indicator crosses the the zero line.a choppy london open will kill your profits.any trend following indicator will loose over the long term unless you no how to trade and ignore signals and take advantage of strong trends.you dont need these toys stick with the main indicators.
anybody who cant make money trading fx on any standard platform with the standard indicators does,nt know how to trade.
