Using Envelopes to rationally determine and hierarchize "Waves" {image}

hi Parisboy,

very interesting. I do the same with price channels, the outer channel with 32 periods, the inner channel with 8 periods

but apply it to Elliott Waves, at least when in doubt

IMHO that is the best practical way to classify and hierarchize Waves. Sometimes you have an ambiguity (of little consequence if you are not using Elliott Waves)

Elliott Waves are a procust tool . You apply a system from Top to Down (12345ABC) and as it does not work you multiply exceptions (90 % of a book dedicated to Elliott Waves talks about exception)

The other way (IMHO the correct way) is to process from the longest period Envelope (including most of the data) to the shortest and to rationally classify Waves. Then to look for patterns, if they exists

I have downloaded your PDF's about Richard Swanell. I remember his work

Markets move in Swings, Thrusts etc more precisely you can name them by using the neutral word component

a Wave has 2 Components : one Up , one Down

a Cycle is made of at least 2 Waves of more or less equal Period (Time) and Amplitude (Price)

That is the repetition of a Wave which generates a "Cycle" - no repetition , no Cycle

WaveTrack confirmed my DJI outlook/count which is based on the Delta cycles for the DAX too.

Since the beginning of 2019 wave "V" is unfolding as an Ending Diagonal. Actually wave "3" is unfolding.

ca-shing???

with the price movement of last week below the 117,55 low, my bullish conviction has faded. Some Elliotticans from EWI are dreaming from a wave 1 up, followed by an ABC flat, where the wave B reached the top @ 120

From a probability point of view it seems to be more low probability.

I have a smallish long position with average price around 118

If it goes up, it may get more interesting for long term position than EU, because of much lower Swaps

for me it should not move beyond 1.0785. Below looks more and more bearish with sub 1.0000

on the other hand: when they do not pierce the gab now, it might proof to be a runaway gab and we will not re-visit it anytime soon

And that CNBC anchor is a specialist structural engineer? I’m sure that their opinion is not important about the subject. Many conspiracy theorists can’t design a popsicle stick bridge but they claim that a controlled demolition brought down the towers.
