I found this indicator in this thread: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=277528 . Credit goes to Mr.Bandung. I've been trading for +5 years, and I personally think that trading this way, with a good indicator like this one is the best way to trade and gives you the best chance at succeeding in the markets. For those who are still looking for a way to trade profitably, take this indicator, study the thread I provided, and do as much research as you can about market profile theory, read the book Mind over Markets by James Dalton and other similar books. You might begin to see the light.

My request: I would like to ask a kind soul to take this market profile indicator (superb job as it is by Bandung) and add the ability to set a date in the past to start looking back. Currently you can only start looking back from current date a pre-set number of days backward. I would like to be able to, say, set it to last Friday, and look back six days from Friday. The feature to set the number of periods to look back already exists. We just need to add ability to determine the starting date to begin looking back from. I hope I'm not being complicated in my explanation.

Much much appreciated in advance.

Not sure if this is what you wanted but I'm taking the simple approach first by just adding another input which controls where the loop starts.

extern int LookBackStart = 5; //added.
extern int LookBack = 20;

Thank you so much for your help! You're very kind and PROMPT! I really appreciate it my friend. Your method works perfectly, better than using set date, because this way all timeframes work the same way. But there is one minor issue: I cannot set the "LookBackStart" number to more than 20. Anything beyond 20 will show nothing. I'm not sure if that's an inherent limitation within the MQ4 coding language?

If there's nothing that can be done about it, then it's ok. You've been kind enough as it is.

There must always be a positive difference between LookBack and LookBackStart. It works like a sliding scale. If you set LookBackStart to 20 then LookBack needs to be 21 or greater.

Hello Cyber,

Thank you for your response. You were right! I works when Lookback is set greater than LookBackStart. But it still will not go above LookBackStart past 40. There seems to really be a limit on historical data that can be used?
