Making the green with price action trading

Hey everyone.

How are you doing?

This is my thread, or blog. Or whatever.

Anyway! I've recently come across the foreign exchange market, just like everybody else here has, and my main goal is simple. Money.

I'm not into any other bull. I don't want to spend hours "learning" about gibberish that doesn't make any logical sense. *cough* planetary cycles *cough*

Before I begin, here's my background:

I'm Andrew. I'm a 28-year-old freelance graphics designer looking for financial freedom, and I don't really give a damn about much else, to be honest.

Now, I consider myself an intelligent individual, and perhaps a step above the average forex beginner, and I feel like after browsing a bunch of trading forums for a short while, I have a general idea of the gist you need in this business.

So far, this is what I've figured out:

 

1. The general consensus around forums is that it's near impossible to trade successfully in the long run, let alone for a living. Quite depressing, but I don't really care what others say, but rather my own results, and I believe it's simply the vocal majority that spend their time whining on forums instead of improving their game.
   
   
2. Indicators, for the most part are bull. Useless. They're telling me something that's happened already. Something that I missed, and can't take advantage of. You can use your Aligator Super Pip Maker Version 3.0 if you want. I'm not a fan.
   
   
3. Simplicity is key.
   
   
4. Have a good, clear mind. Follow rules. Don't mentally break down, just trade like you should. Lost 10 trades in a row? I don't care. Follow the plan.
   
   
5. Money/risk management is -everything-.

My trading methodology is.. nothing right now. My charts are basically empty, except with a few lines.

What's highly been recommended to me, and what the most popular thing on the block right now seems to be "price action trading", which, as far as I know, is basically taking advantage of candlestick formations, and trading based off that. No bull indicators or any dodgy theories.

So my starting quest right now is to dive into the world of price action, learn the ins and outs, and make money.

A question for you experienced PA traders: What is the best price action website to learn trading from in your experience? I've heard of lots, but I need to sit down and put in the time to research this price action thing.

I can tell you that you are on the right track, everything you had written is true except from the fact that you can be profitable on the long run and you can live from trading, you have to be very good and it takes years to master it.

Andrew don't take advise from 95% ....
They are traders making a living from trading.I talk with one daily about our trades.
I have been trading 6months and last 2 months solid profitable.My 1st 4 months were horrendous due to my lack of experience and I consider that normal sort of tuition .
BS that one needs years and years of experience to be profitable are coming from people who have not mastered simple disciplines and continue making typical mistakes and never truly work on their weaknesses consistently.
Finally not everyone is meant to be a trader.That is simple truth.If one is still not profitable after 5yrs I am sorry you are in wrong occupation.
Trading requires honesty.Market exposes your flaws,arrogance,know it all,greedy,revengeful,laziness etc.It makes you pay every-time you lie to yourself.
If you keep yourself determined,hungry for success then you will find your way to success.

I am artist as well and artists are naturally good at trading because trading requires blending many components into one cohesive whole much like well executed graphic work or a painting.
Andrew you must look at forex more long term financial freedom not overnight or even 1yr.Keep your regular job and try hard to learn as much as you can and slowly built your account. 5k account with 8% monthly profit blossoms to 500k in 5years.Its a turtle's race.I am shooting 10% or higher.
