Still got a position short EJ off my scalping account, which is always nice to catch a runner.

Interesting how you drew that rectangle. Are you drawing on some deeper insights into S&D? Ordinarily, once price cuts through a supply zone it is no longer valid -- though in this particular case it looks as though a demand zone formed later in about the same place. And the congestion region in the middle of the rectangle seems to have an upward bias, does that mean anything?
Sure I have a trading plan. Buy low. Sell high. What's yours?

Cheers, welcome aboard and hope to see some charts

Thought I'd share this tasty little indicator you can use to mark off the London open on your charts. This is essential for any morning session scalper imo.

My broker is GMT so I set the value for 8.

Here was the EURJPY chart I posted from this morning. Notice what happened at the green line (London open).

The red lines are the previous day's high and low. I'll dig out the indicator for this sometime.

The blue lines I stick on manually to highlight the current day's high and low.

Here's something I've noticed happens a lot. Price arrives at a H1 / H4 level and then stalls for an hour and moves away from the level.

However, you then often get a secondary pop just above the swing high to take out the stops and break evens... I see this almost everytime!

Price then does what it was going to do and reverses.

Anyway... It's all about the screentime.

You know, I see this type of thing all the time, not just in S&D levels, but in practically every other support/resistance mechanism you can name, for example trend lines. I see prices following a well formed trend line, then an unmistakeable breakout occurs, it goes maybe 5 pips across the line, then turns around and breaks back in and turns into a runner in the original trend direction. This type of behavior is unusually common in the Forex.

Some people ascribe this to stop hunters and hedge funds acting in a predatory fashion to trigger the nearby SLs. But if you do the math you'll see there isn't a lot of profit to gain by it. My theory is that because currencies are traded in pairs and one currency occurs in multiple pairs, action in one pair can cause price movements in other pairs that won't respect their technical levels.

But whatever the explanation, it does make using breakeven stops more difficult. I suppose you could even use it as a signal, by placing your limit order a few pips behind the level you expect is going to hold.
Sure I have a trading plan. Buy low. Sell high. What's yours?
