HI Guys and Gals,

Looking for some advice here. I have an EA that runs on 21 charts.

I have 2 VPS severs (both with 1Gig Ram) that are both running 3 open MT4 platforms each with 21 open charts. They run OK although sometimes the EA misfires and sometimes the VPS seems to labour a little.

Anyway for just a few more dollars I can get a dedicated online server that has 4Gb memory.

Im wondering if I am better off maintaining the 2 VPS servers or combining on to 1 dedicated server that has more resources?

The other thing Im worried about is that the EA is firing off the exact same trades across all MT4 platforms. Im wondering if that will be a problem i.e. for example it is sending out 6 buy orders at the exact time.

Would really appreciate your thoughts if you know what kind of resources MT4 and EA's utilize.

Thanks Kindly

MT4 hardly uses any bandwidth. Latency to the broker is most important, especially with high-frequency EA's. MT4 tends to use so little bandwidth that's it's never really an issue. It will use more when you are downloading history data, and in that case bandwidth is good but only really to save time with the download.

But as with most things computer, more is better, and if using the the server enables you to place all the trades, assuming it is a great EA, surely it will pay for itself in quick time.
