{quote} Yep...and the BRN right there too.....and ATR limit approaching.....I really entered based on a Matrix signal, plus ASCTrend (arrow) plus momentum. It wasn't until after I entered that I saw all these things.....a real muppet trade from me, but I got away with it! Edit: it was actually R3 in the way.....which is even worse!!

I already took the exit at +55....and was glad to be out of that trade. That one will have a red line under in my notebook to remind me to pay attention!!

You're right there, the FXIpivots indicator is way out on GJ but on M5 price moved along R2 to show how wrong they are.

Tried to sneak some pips off EA while you were busy but got stopped out at BE.....next time.....

If your pivots on all charts don't match the actionforex table, to within a pip or 3, then your brokers server time is the problem. Who is your broker?

Um no. I wait till next week and hope that Sunday isn't such a huge candle which is what stuff it all up -- or else you manually put in the pivots taking the price from Action Forex . This is ok if you only have a few charts.
I have taken on the belief that if everyone uses the wrong pivots we will all be ok.......

No, i just check them out on Action Forex to make sure they aren't too far out. GJ is tonight. EU wasn't too bad.

I thought so.....that's the problem. Their server offset is wrong and they also have that stupid Sunday candle which puts things out of whack. I trade with them too, but I chart with FXPro demo because they have the correct offset.

I've mentioned this before but in our world we have a standard to adhere to...it's called GMT......but some brokers just won't tow the line....FXCM is one of them

Hi RJ

Wondering if you have any secrets as to how to pick time out to do chores. Is there something you look at on a chart or in indicators that can say "nothing is likely to happen for a good half hour or hour (or two)" ...

Or does the coffee just help you zone in?

If your profile is correct you are in the same timezone as me, well quite close anyway. I look at the first 1.5hrs of Tokyo session and if there is nothing happening go and complete all chores before LO. That gives me heaps of time to get everything done. The same with London session if nothing is setting up as per trade rules then you have time to do other things even at night. After reading RJ's posts he is very picky with trades and I have become that way as well, so if it is not "picture perfect" for me I don't trade. No one is forcing me to trade and I am going to be quite happy I've got a HPT before placing my hard earned money on the table.

Ive found screen watching for hours on end makes me stale. Look for the ebbs and flows of the market, get in sync, and you'll end up having heaps of time to do chores.

Wow, NZ retail figures up......my credit card must have been a help.......

True PM1, now I look for the 1 next trade and nothing else. Setups we know so it is a matter of waiting for that to appear. There is no need to trade aggressively---- now trading is much more pleasurable -- I wont say calm as before moving to BE is the danger time but certainly cuts errors and makes the win/loss ratio in my favour. If stoplosses are reasonable and TP is usually bigger than SL, natures course is profitable.

Edit: umm, sorry but doing chores is off topic.....

Just have to look at when moves are likely, and when they are not. With the Tokyo market, mostly the moves will be in the first 3 or 4 hours.....same for the London market. NY depends (to some extent) on news and when Wall St opens. Times outside of these periods is when moves are probably unlikely to happen, so that's when I do my chores. Sometimes I have to do what I have to do no matter what the time is.....like yesterday.....I missed all the Tokyo session because I went to town and took my Mum to lunch. The market will always be there, Mum will not be.....so if I fit in my chores around the market, I will do that. But if not, well, too bad.....I'll catch the market later
