Thanks...! Price retested the support of the previous consolidation range (where I entered my second position !) and came back down !!! But I'm still holding the first one and will enter again at the breach of the current support that should give a good move down.....!

Started today on IBFX mini account and earned 5.29% with this system.

Thanks for opening my eyes and realised that short cuts are very dangerous.

Hi John, haven't we met somewhere before? Glad you like the system.
The attached ea is one I had altered. It has been posted here before but I'll post it again. It has 3 options, 1 to use the trailing stop behind an ma, 1 to close if the price closes the other side of an ma and one to close on a heiken ashi change.

The reason I post this is because of the reason I had the original ea altered and that is so that I can set an emergency stop 20 pips behind the ma but also have the option to close the trade if it closes the wrong side of the ma without hitting the emergency stop.

This is useful so that the odd little spike the other side of the ma doesn't take you out prematurely. Using it this way you can allow the price to go quite a way the wrong side of the ma without stopping you out and as long as the price closes the right side of the ma it won't close you out. It's a way to not get stopped out by minor spikes above or below the ma.

Hello John, I was in Durban for a short while in 2003, I remember it being very humid. Storms and flooding here in the UK now.

Hugh, thanks for posting that EA, it is one I will try out at some point.

Further to me asking a couple of days ago about a trade manager, I managed to work out why Quick Trailing was not functioning properly and it is doing all I want for now so am pleased about that.

Hi Norm, we are nearly in full winter but still in shorts. It is chilling off at night but the weather has changed completely ( like my trading, no more short cuts)

I am retired and trying to add to my pension and hope and pray this project of Hugh is going to see all of us through.

Well you know me, I'm determined. I find that helping others helps me too. As a team we're starting to make good progress, my initial idea, lots of input from others and it's starting to add up to something good. Glad to have you onboard John.

Use a 34 ema of the high price rather than the close. Then add on of the low price so you have a channel of 2 ema's. It seems to work quite well to use the opposite side of the channel.
I use the 34 high, low and close and have used it for sometime now. I first learned of this "river" EMA from a book I read by Raghee Horner called Forex Trading for Maximum Profit. It works a treat!!

Just a note of thanks for this thread. I have to read it in more depth soon, but just wanted to throw in a word. I have been trading a 2m chart with a fairly clean entry system I developed, but having added the stochastics on a higher time frame has significantly improved my reliability with my entry.

Using the 15 minute with the 2 minute is very close to using a daily chart with a 4 hour chart - and since everything is fractal, the match carries across very nicely.

I use HA candles on the 2m to clean out the noise.

I'll report more as I gather more info. I love stats and use my Smart Tools Trade Log extensively for that - so as I gather more data over time trying this I'll report back in. But thanks so much for the nudge to use two timeframes in this way.

I am watching Usd/Jpy, Eur/Jpy and Gbp/Usd waiting for H1 Stochastics to turn up.

Looks like Eur/Usd maybe turning down on the D1 soon, would you still be taking longs on these if H1 turns up due to red doji on D1?

If the hourly pushes back up on those pairs it will turn the daily green again. I want to be long gbpusd, it looks like it could be bouncing from the 100 sma again but I will wait and see.
By the way I am still long usdjpy but it has pulled back sharply overnight.

The UJ EJ and GU D1 are already green on my charts.
UJ H1 is blue but not closed.

Nzd/Usd looks good for a long if H1 closed green.

Can you please tell me how you see Eur/Usd now? What are you looking for on D1 and H1?
I had the habit of when the E/U goes UP then I burn my fingers to get a trade in on the U/CHF for a sell.

Now if I look closely to what I am trying to achieve - I am buying the EUR and selling USD but
in the same time I am selling the USD and buying CHF.

That is where my brain tells me I am doing something wrong or am I?

Any thoughts?

On IBFX (Gmt) the daily is still on a red Doji and the hourly it would like to

make the turn up but the stochs is still in over sold.

I'd wait for a fresh daily signal before getting involved again, these things have a habit of turning round. Wait til you catch a good trend and you won't worry so much about a few break evens.

All the time the eurchf is being supported just above 1.20 eurusd and usdchf are almost perfectly negatively correlated meaning they will both move in tandem, one up and the other down. All you are doing by trading both is doubling your risk. Nothing particularly wrong with that as long as you are aware of it. I would just stick to trading one or the other and most often eurusd.
