Hi everybody

signed in today, hope I find forex-friends here

after some 2 years research on demo I started 1 month ago on real

As on demo the results were rather impressing I was afraid that real wont work the same perfect way. But it does!!!
I have about 1000$ and i invest 100% in every transaction (I know I know....far too much... but it is just for testing) and after 4 weeks I have made 70%. I earned every single week! So now I have 1700$.

After such a positive start I would like to invest some 10 or 50k$ and repeat the result from the last month

My question now: will oanda work with the 10 or 50 time bigger sum in the same way? In other words: If I had invested 10k$ a month ago, would I have 17k$ now?

Thank you very much for your answers in advance!

Hi, I am not a guru or anything , but I think you wouldn't risk as easy 10-50K as 1, so you wouldn't rush into 100% account usage, and i guess therefore 70% will not be realistic.. but you 've saved yourself a bunch of nervous cells, which do not regenerate, btw

oanda will accept orders as large as 10,000,000 units per trade... during "off-peak" times you may experience a few seconds delay while your big order is filled...so u can just click away......if thats what u want to do :-)

however, trading 1k "all in" is one thing (still not advisable).. trading 10-50k "all-in" sounds totally crazy....(no offense)

why not just reduce your leverage and take an extra few months to reach your goals ?

or better yet, why not just leave the $1700 and let it compile instead of depositing more ?... at that rate of return (70%/month.. which is probably not sustainable, but thats your business) beginning with 1k or 10k makes little difference in the long run...

just my own .02usd

have a good weekend !

For me it is really obvious, this month was just a test of real oanda on the small sum. I am going to trade max 10% of balance when I invest more.

long run....well, actually I think the same way - but it doesnt matter what I do. If my system makes stable even half of the last result sooner or later I will have to ask the same question: what is the highest value that oanda handles same easy like 1000$

hey zazzy,
ur results amaze me. keep it up friend. as far as Oanda goes...its a real good broker. you can trade with them upto 10,000,000 without any glitch. it'll be the same. if you wanna go for more...then u have to subscribe to their API and only then u can increase your lot size. but overall there should not be much of a difference.
i agree with everyone that as you grow ur account...risking 100% is foolish...but then again i believe...to really achieve something you have to do..what others are afraid from doing.

my 2 cents
gabroo
and i grow...pip by pip.......pip by pip!!!!

I started with $ 1000 demo money half a month ago Now I have about $ 6000. After first couple of days of "lucky" trading and making 50% daily I asked myself, how soon before I reach 1 mil? I tried to commit things to calculator by simple formula:

$ 1000 x 1.5 x n = $ 1,000,000

I got n = to about 17-18 days. So I got really excited, And tried to keep up with my trend, thinking that money is only numbers, so it should multiply following mathematical rules, however, I was dead wrong, because of human psychology that is involved in decision making process. Keep long story short, your losses become bigger, chipping away at your balance regardless of how big your wins are.

I wonder if Zazzy could report back and update us on what happened since these posts are more than two years old.

It would surely be interesting to find out.
