as the title says, anyone know of a script that can rotate Profiles every X minutes in MT4?
if so please direct me to it.

if not i think it would be interesting to have one created by one of the great programmers we have in this community.

sweet extra would be to be able to select the Profiles names it will rotate between.

thank you

Strange request, why not just open another MT4 on another screen?

If you had any EA's controlling your trade stops, you lose them when switching profiles
Maximize wins, minimize loss, stay in the game as long as you can

well.. it is like this. i want to set this up on a demo separate installation of mt4. this can be on a 2nd screen or a different PC.
so it will not interfere in any way on the MT4 i use for trading.

it is useful i think because i watch between 2-4 pairs, i have marked my levels and know my possible entry points.
but sometimes i get so glued to one pair that is sooooo close to an entry point that i miss important moves as they develop on other pairs.
so trading on one sceen in the main live platform and having a second screen up with the demo MT4 rotating trough there pairs every minute say my eye will catch any interesting move in any of these.
but that cant be rotating windows or templates. it needs to be rotating profiles because each profile has 5 windows in it that give me at any moment the bigger picture for each. (i seriously compete with goldfish in a memory test any time).

Only 4 pairs, no problem, run MT4 x 4, just drag & drop original MT4 folder to C: drive - find the "terminal.exe" to make shortcut to that version, do as many times as you need.

Rename the shortcuts to reflect which pair is there, launch and setup the screen the way you want.

At least then, all the data will be current and no waiting for profiles to load, only 1 mouse click to select each MT4.

With Windows 7, you can use "windows" key + left or right arrow to dock one MT4 on left, another on right, doubles your screen space

Hope you find something that works for you

but the idea is to not have to push buttons to rotate profiles, or i would do it by pressing Shift+F5 if so.
also profiles dont take much time to load, even on my laptop takes less than a second.

In this video, I'm using 3 symbols, 4 timeframes, and switching them every 5 seconds (for demonstration purposes).

Is this similar to what you are trying to do?

It can be done using MT4 Profiles, but I do not think that is the best solution.

There are a few different ways of doing it. I used the "slide show" concept.

I opened all charts in the same MT4 (3 symbols...4 timeframes each), positioned them where I wanted them, and ran a script to "activate" the charts for the current symbol. See attached script for details. You should need just minor changes to the script for your requirements.

If you'd rather explore the Profiles solution, I can explain to you 1 way of doing it.

Very useful, works like a charm. Just needed minor editing to allow additional timeframes.

zznbrm,

Can you explain which charts you drag the script onto to activate slideshow, and is it the profiles that are changed ?

fantastic, it really is what i needed. thank you very much for this .
also as Kostas says its rather easy to edit for more pairs and TFs.

i only wonder if i have done this right, i have put it in the "experts" folder in MT4. the weird thing is it doesnt stop the rotation when i enable/disable the experts from the menu button of the MT4.
so i wonder if this is my mistake, or if its a function that you could add possibly?
even though without it its perfect for what i need, and i agree that it is the best solution rather than rotating Profiles. because even though they load fast, this has no overhead.
i will get really hooked on that slideshow now .
thanks again, i wish you all the best in your trading journey.

Script can go on any chart. This solution has nothing to do with profiles.

The previously attached mq4 file is a script and should go in your "experts/scripts" folder.

zzbrnm, I just can't get it to work like in your video.

I trade 2 pairs @ 2 timeframes, would be nice if I could get the 2 currency pairs to change at the same time, ie. showing one currency pair at a time. but How ?

first put that in your experts/scripts folder.
start MT4.
arrange the 4 charts as you like.
then drag n drop the script on one of them (from your scripts list)
that should do it.

I don't need Rotation but the explanation below

@ zznbrm, and asos101

Please can you take a look at my screenshot. I want EU, GU, EJ, UJ, .....up to 10 pairs should all be displayed 4 by 4 each as seen on my EU example. Is there a way I can make them DEFAULT such a way that I do not need to be setting them up each time I reload my chart. Can you help me with a script to do this please.

That is,

EU = 4 time frame tile vertically

GU= 4 time frame tile vertically

GJ= 4 time frame tile vertically

e.t.c., e.t.c, e.t.c

Hope my explanation is very clear now. Thanks

I run the script but the MT4 stops DLL function (getParent). From understanding what the DLL is, it allows the EA/Script developer to access into the users computer for their own purposes. Would zzmbrm to modify the script to be independent so that I can run it smoothly on my MT4 ? Thanks
