At the risk of incurring Steves wrath, has anybody had any trades with H yet ?

I've spent hours following all the instructions but all to no avail.
Ignored
I set H with M1, M5 & M15 just to see if it would make trades and now this morning I have three trades in the works. So far so good.

Now I'll set the time frames to something a little more useful and see what happens.

Edit: I set it to H1, H4, D1

Using H with M15 and D1. Took gbpchf trade last night and hit my tp of 25 pips. Currently have 2 trades running: nzdchf and usdchf. Looks promising! Thanks Steve.

Thanks to everybody for your replies.

Steve, you say I have something wrong with my setup and I agree, however I have recent strength output working, I think as my screenshot is similar to yours but I'm not getting any values except AUD as the weakest but with no figures on all 3 Tf's which is obviously incorrect.

I've gone through every setting so many times I have a headache !!!

Did anyone have a similar problem to start with ? and if so what am I missing ?

Help !!!!

download another mt4 from another "vendor" (broker) and set it up from scratch using fresh downloads.

then work back from there.

Latest update in post 1.

I have added slope recognition. From the updated user guide:

  1. SlopeConfirmationCandles: H will check your strongest and weakest currencies for their slope before allowing a trade, so that the strongest has to be rising and the weakest falling. Enter the number of candles you want to check back by inputting these into SlopeConfirmationCandles, separated by commas. There should be the same number of inputs as you have in your TimeFrames input. In the D1, H1 and M5 example, with an input string containing “1,1,5”, H would check back one candle each on the D1 and H1 timeframes, and 5 on the M5. Leaving this input blank, or set all to zero, tells H not to check the slope, and merely to work on the latest Recent Strength values.

Right then I'm nearly there. Just got NZD showing as the weakest across 3 Tf's but no sign of the blue NZD line on the 'Recent Strength' indi. Value 0.00 on all three Tf's. Checked all inputs.

The screen info is changing every minute to show how the strongest are doing but NZD stays 0.00 and is missing from chart.

Must be something small causing this. Anyone with an answer ?

I would try to work it out on your own.

You risk the wrath of everyone.

There may well be a bug for certain MT4 setups - in each instance you are showing one currency with a value of zero - hence my suggestion of downloading another MT4 from a different broker.

Please try not to think of this thread as IT support. You download it and make it work for you. If you don't have that level of competency my point of view is you shouldn't be using it nor deserve to unless there is a valid bug which through troubleshooting and confirmation upon highlighting benefits everyone.

That's enough from me.

Scuuuse me !!

I have contributed plenty to many of Steves threads with troubleshooting and bug spotting.

I use some of Steves Ea's live.

I can generally sort out the problems for myself but sometimes a little help from the more experienced members is helpful. Everyone has problems sometimes.

You obviously haven't got a clue why one currency should be missing from the indi and neither do I.

Sorry it bothers you so much.

did you download a different MT4 as advised?

if you had you would have noticed AUDUSD,100, AUDCAD,100, AUDCHF,100, AUDJPY,100, AUDNZD,100, EURAUD,100, GBPAUD,100

and the problem with alpari UK representing that.

Excellent.

Deciding which tf's to use is going to be the thing here, I suspect. Should be a blast.

As it happens I did download another MT4 and it does work on this one, however I use Alpari for all my demo and live trading so want to get it working on their platform.

As to the rest of your information above, well it all looks the same to me on both brokers platform.

I might figure it out one day so I'll just bite my tongue for now.

Under normal circumstances, I would have sent a poster such as Ras away with a flaming. Thing is, he has been most helpful many times and is a valued contributor to many of my threads.

I am cutting him some slack here; not actually helping because I have no idea what his problem is. Anybody who got this all set up without a hitch is lucky; I struggled to do so when I transferred everything from my coding to my trading machine and migrated from Alpari UK to IBFX Aussie.

I am not criticising you stimpy; merely explaining my apparently hypocritical double standards.

In short, Ras is one of the good guys.

Hello Rascacio,
hope that helped. It is said there are two two tyes of "Fiqure-Outers".

  1. Grasshopper Mode/Type : catches it before it falls
  2. Inch Worm/Caterpillar Types : Need to have it bounce a little before catching it.

Stay at it Ras, it will show up.....I was one of the lucky ones and managed to get the first H to trade and as I was patting myself on the back I went ahead and updated the bot with the second H and wrecked it.....It picked up its Ball and glove and went off in a sulk and is now sitting in the corner of my laptop sucking its thumb.....It will have to wait until I get some time this weekend to try it again....

Have a better day

good stuff.

he just needs to pull as much data through as documented in hanovers thread.

bit painful on alpari - it opens all lines first time on gomarkets.

note the 7 vs 8.

I remember last year when I tried the indicator for the first time had problems. Had to read the instructions couple of times before getting it.
You will get there, just read everything again and ensure you are following it exactly.

Kind regards

just to show that it can be done.

note all the data still isn't there... you need to read hanover's thread to find out.

note 8 as opposed to 7 before.

as astral has pointed out - hanover has spent a good deal of time answering all these problems.
