If I zoom out on gbpaud and usdjpy and put out lines on each 1000 pips.
why are the lines closer together on gbpaud than usdjpy?

Looking forward to your answer

Maybe it's something to do with the extra digits in GBPAUD ?

GBPAUD 5 Digits in price compared to 3 digits with USDJPY.(after decimal point of course.)
You have to set one at 1000 & the other 10 to compensate.

It can not be the 5 Digits. EURUSD has 5 Digits and there is a difference.

someone else who knows?

A pip is a pip.

The lines look closer together on Gbp/Aud because its more volatile and Usd/Jpy is less volatile. Your chart is auto heightened to capture the recent highs & lows so its more apparent.

Average True Range(14) on Gbp/Aud is about 150pips while Usd/Jpy is only 50pips.

seriously... ffs! what a stupid question!

if you 'zoom out' with the magnifying button then your chart will automatically set it's price range based on the range of the bars/candles currently viewable at the current zoom level.

why is it so hard to see that the price moved further vertically at some zoom level on one currency versus a different currency and therefore one chart MUST show a larger price range than another chart??? open your eyes and look at your chart!
