Thanks Eval for your reply.
I think you'll be very profitable in 15min TF as you can stay in trade for longer time although entry is later than 5min TF. But I guess if combined both together and use appropriate progressive bar by bar stop loss when trade is in your direction, you should gain more pips. I'm still learning.

Btw, AUDUSD can trend very well on both UK and US Session, perhaps you can side trade AUDUSD other than just EURUSD and AUDUSD has less fluctuation and hence not much repainting on the indicators.

two ways....

one, follow the system and just enter and exit when it tell you or in cases of consolidation identify high of consolidation and lower.

second, draw two horizontal lines as the break lines and enter on the break of those lines either up or down. but i think you will find that Symphonie has already told you the direction at that point.

hope that helps.

you enter a trade and get an extreme spike telling you movement has ended....then you need to exit at close of that candlestick.

just like i said in post #1

(especially if you are less that 30 pips into movement and you get extreme spike)

and if the indicator shows no extreme spike (spike without colour),where we need to exit??

Btw, your strategy is fantastic! 1st time use it and gained more than 100pips today held from asian session to UK session. Wonderful combination. I add EMA50 to 5min TF so as to act as a visual filter to prevent enter at wrong direction. If PA close above EMA50 and all symphonie signals are blue, then I can safely go long and vice versa.

In your opinion, is EMA50 a good idea to add as a filter in 5min TF?[/quote]

I also use to filter my EMA50 traders, price above it and below only buy sale.
Logic that would make some traders who were positive using the original system, but I prefer the filter EMA50 safer.

Does anyone have a trend line indicator that includes an alert? Would be really handy as the trend line is usually the last indicator to signal.

Thanks

neltonbenke,

Thank you for your comments. I hope you find this thread helpful to your trading.

Yes. 50day moving average sounds like an interesting way to guage entry points. I will look into also. Please keep posting and let us know how it works out for you.

Nice one! Just done a VERY quick visual back-test on the 15 minute chart and you're right, the EMA 50 seems to keep you out of a lot of bad trades.

Added it to my template. Good work :-)

May be worth trying a few different EMA values on the different time frames. Tried a 60 EMA on the M15 chart and looks a tiny bit better, but I may be just pattern fitting. Would need plenty of forward testing.

To complement the use of the 50 EMA, always check the angle of inclination. In my last post to ema50 is horizontal, although the indicators are favorable sale. Better wait for the candle to close below and to maintain at least the next down too, realizing that it begins to show a drop angle, while the same did not happen and the price went up.

Teresh,

I do not understand your question. You asked about non extreme spikes. The answers are all in the exit strategy section of post#1.

Those should cover 90% of the issues for exiting a trade. There are 3 exit strategies to choose from and one exception that superceeds the 3 exit strategies.

I am sure you will find your answers there.

Dude - if there is no extreme spike (i.e. a spike with a colour) then simply stay in the trade. Move your stop to b/e +3 and stay in until there is an extreme spike or you have hit your TP according to your trading plan...
