Hey Guys, hello from Tokyo!

What tool/EA/website would you recommend for checking the current correlation/non-correlation of the various forex pairs?

I'm looking for something robust that can let me choose which timeframe to look at and how many past periods to base the calculations on.

I don't use a website for that. I build everything I use to make decisions about trades, that way I know the results I'm getting.

You can easily build this in Excel complete with some decent graphics if you use Vista Excel.

Or, alternatively - you can buy software that does it for you. The problem with that, is the fact that you don't know (unless you are told) which correlation coefficient type/method is used to derive the positive/negative values, nor will you know if the developer is using any other inputs to augment the correlation results. Thus, it is probably best if you take the 30-40 minutes necessary and learn how to build a Correlation Heatmap yourself in Excel - Vista has some pretty neat conditional graphics capabilities at this point, so you can dress it up nicely to meet the needs of your eye - if that's important to you.

I use mataf.net as mentioned above, but if you're keen on using an indicator, the Pearson correlation indicator should serve you well. I got it from TSD (google: pearson correlation tsd and see the first result).

If you don't risk, you don't ever have to lose.
