Hi xaphod, Plamen or any of you other absolute geniuses who have the ability to create these indicators and robots etc.
Would any of you know how to set an audible alert on the tmc or tdi when the red and green lines go above the 68 level or below the 32 level??
Thanks for your help.

Nice work Plamen - I'll test this tonight - thanks

Seems to be working very well i've set the minmum candle size on the H4 to 2.8, I think that might be a little high for some of the quieter pairs though, we'll see. Question is should I be trading the quieter pairs anyway.

Amm... isn't 2.8 (two point eight) value far tooooo small for HA candle to consider it a "good" one??

The size is in PIPS (works fine with X/JPY pairs as well: 80.45 - 80.25 = 20 pips, for example). Hmm.. I was thinking of 10-12 (for H1) and ???? for H4.

Am I missing something..

Yes, it is possible, but I am not going to change the original. Instead I'll make it possible in the Watchdog, which, when set in a given way, is identical to Original.

I thought a setting of 2.8 on the indicator = 28 pips - am I right? Are you saying 2.8 = 2.8 pips? I didn't think .8 of a pip was possible.

I would say about 12 pips for H1 (again depends on which pair).

I'm using about 70 for the daily.

Argh.. lol

2.8=2.8
28 = 28

What You Set Is What You Get :-)) [WYSIWYG]

Again:
2.8 = 2.8 pips
28 = 28 pips

How come you thought 2.8 would be 28 by the way ? :-)

Well it seems to be working e.g a setting of 7.0 is only giving me alerts for Daily candles sizes above 70 pips and 2.8 is only giving me alerts for candle sizes for above 28 pips on the 4H. Maybe we're getting confused with pips and pipettes here maybe. Yes I agree 2.8 pipettes would be way to small! lol !

Looks like it is related to Point() value... Hmm... How many decimals you get from your broker? 4 ? Give me an example for EURUSD and USDJPY please...

I got: EURUSD= 1.43736 (five) and USDJPY= 80.097 (three)

Got it.. Missed that thingy.. Will be fixed soon. For now, just use your "small" values, i.e. 2.8 (yours) instead of 28 (mine).

Thanks for the feedback!

plamendp, an easy way to make your code universal so it does not matter about 4 or 5 decimal brokers or currency suffixes is to use these two snippets.

Inserted Code
//----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
//so it works with 4 and 5 decimal brokers put this in init and then use myPoint wherever you would use Point in the code
// declare myPoint as double

myPoint=Point;
if((Digits==5)  || (Digits == 3)) myPoint=myPoint*10;

//----------------------------------------------------------------------

//------------------------------------------------------------
// Determine if symbol has a suffix and use it
//------------------------------------------------------------

    Suffix_Size = StringLen(Symbol()) - 6;
    Sym_Suffix = StringSubstr(Symbol(),6,Suffix_Size);

//------------------------------------------------------------

Usage then would be like this in the indicator.

Code:

 MarketInfo("NZDUSD"+Sym_Suffix,MODE_BID);

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, however I use an workaround because there is no iDigits() version of Digits (TMS is Multisymbol). Anyway. Attached indi should work now and haCandleSizeThreshold must be set in *real* pips.

I use the following to determine the behaviour:

Inserted Code
   double p = MarketInfo("EURUSD", MODE_POINT);
   if ( p == 0.00001 ) doSomethingWith53Decimals();
   else doSomethingElseWith42Decimals();

assuming broker is strict about the convention 4-2 (4 decimals for EURUSD/etc and 2 decimals for JPYs and alike).

Plamen,

I also use that method as well. I like your indicator and your willingness to code/help others. I was offering what i could.

thanks Plamen - I'm starting to think I might use a different minimum candle threshold for each pair. For H4 180 day ADR/5 perhaps.

Hi Plamen,
For some reason the watchdog is not quite working properly when I load it. I have downloaded the latest version.
Once I load it into my expert indicators folder , I open the platform and put it onto my chart. This is fine up to this point. Then I save it as a template. The problem is whenver I open another chart and try and use the template, the watchdog goes haywire (I cant attach an image here so I will post the same message in the indicators for TMS thread with an image you can look at). See the last bar pink colour that has painted itself on and also the writing in the corner looks like it has two lots of informtion....one lot written on top of the other lot. Is there a particular way I need to be loading this?? AS I said...the first loading onto the charts is fine, the problem is trying to use the template I saved it in. If I cant save it as a template it means every chart I open I have to load EVERYTHING like apb candles, ema etc. It would be nice to be able to use the template so I dont have to individually load every chart.
So it seems the problem is saving it as a template and trying to use that template.
Thanks for your help.
Dean

Hi Dean & Plamen

I have exactly the same problem. Occurs only when I apply the saved template to a new chart.
As a temporary workaround I delete the watchdog with the faulty info text and reload a fresh copy of the watchdog. This clears the double image for the text but its a hassle as the parameters have to be changed again [if you have changed any defaults].

Hope this problem can be resolved

Thanks

I have that problem too, I clear it by deleting the indicator and readd it to the template.

Try to be on the same SYmbol AND Timeframe when you SAVE and later LOAD the template.

Or:

1. Build your template from scratch (clean chart)
2. Switch to EURUSD/H1 (or whatever pair/tf you wish as far as you remember it!)
3. Save template
4. Open brand NEW clean chart (optional)
5. Change to EURUSD/H1 (or the one you were when you saved the tpl)
6. Load template
7. Now you are free to change symbol and timeframe

Should you forget to execute 5. (happens all the time)

8. If you see old overlaping objects: switch to symbol/tf from p.2
9. Cycle ALL timeframes
10. Voila

Hint: Ultimate, hardcore solution: Cycle ALL symbols and ALL timeframes :-)

Sorry, unavoidable.
