I know, it's too early but after 9 hours of test, my results per pair are:

Pair// Net Profit// Martingale Levels// Floating P/L

EUR/JPY// 97.09$// 6 (3.2 lots)// -8.18$
GBP/JPY// 82.19$// 4 (0.8 lots)// -17.54$
GBP/USD// 51.00$// 4 (0.8 lots)// -19.01$
EUR/USD// 37.50$// 7 (6.4 lots)// -749.00$
USD/JPY// 33.40$// 3 (0.4 lots)// 1.93$
EUR/GBP// 7.97$// 7 (6.4 lots)// -1.234,65$

Maybe tomorrow results are totally different but if I have to choose a pair, I would choose GBP/JPY, good profit with low risk (level 4). I think we need a high volatile pair for closing trades in this system.

Let's see during Asian Session.....

Oh jeeps. What planet are you on?

Until you understand how irrelevant the tf is, then you cannot even begin to trade this robot.

Mind, if you cannot trade this robot, then you will have trouble trading anything.

I suggest you re-read post one and take things v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.

And refrain from posting again until yuo do understand what is going on here.

That didn't occur to me but you have to be right.

I have gone for EU because of the small spread.

You recommend GJ because it is Psychotically Deranged. Clearly you are correct. If a pair is capable of umpteen pips movement in one particular direction, then that is the pair to trade with this robot.

Nice one Caillou. Cheers. Off to put R&R on GJ.

This also give me another idea, albeit one for the future.

TOB has a volatility filter.

So, code a R&R multi-pair version that trades the most volatile pair in the pairs-to-trade list.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Not just yet. First, let's make sure we are not all barking at the wrong moon.

So is (c), but I haven't a clue how. I have emailed Daddy for help.

Thank you Mr Hopwood.

I look forward to seeing these improvements to the R&R EA

Good morning,

Results from my test:

Pair Net Profit Martingale Levels Floating P/L

EUR/JPY 189.94$ 6 (3.2 lots) -409.55$
GBP/JPY 249.17$ 7 (6.4 lots) -93.21$
GBP/USD 132.19$ 4 (0.8 lots) -0.60$
EUR/USD 44.56$ 7 (6.4 lots) +14.00$
USD/JPY 45.12$ 4 (0.8 lots) -11.02$
EUR/GBP 13.72$ 8 (12.8 lots) -7.234.08$

I have to stop this test because of EUR/GBP trade, with 12.8 lots DD increases extremely quick and margin is not enough for opening more trades so the account is totally killed.

Will start a new test with: EUR/JPY, EUR/NZD, GBP/USD, GBP/CHF, GBP/JPY, GBP/NZD, XAU/USD

I look for high volatility pairs here:

It is not going to be feasible to trade this live until I have worked out how to squeeze extra profit out of the hedged pairs reaching breakeven. I am not sure how many of us could withstand the stress of watching, say, an L5 hedge kick in, for the situation to eventually unravel for a couple of bucks.

Still thinking about it. I think I have constructed a formula.

I know what you mean Steve but I'm up £28 in 4 hrs, if this turned out to be typical you've got to admit that this would a pretty good return on the cost price of the bot. :>))))

Great news folks. I just took a bath.

I worked out how to squeeze the extra profits out of the hedges moving to breakeven. Doing so requires counting the hedge level of open trades, which makes a max level setting available.

I shall add the code this afternoon.

Not sure just going for high volatility will work the GBPJPY trade in your results was only one level of the EURGBP level that wrecked the account.

Steve

So far on demo things looking not bad. Had a couple of level 7 trades which can be scary levels. I think it would be a good idea to have settings for only trading at particular times, say for an hour around Euro/UK opening and maybe an hour around US opening as these tend to be the times we get a good amount of movement in one direction. Obviously this will reduce the profit but may stop accounts getting killed.

Paul

PS. I tried using strategy tester for this to check the highest levels it went to but found it didn't take any trades. Not sure why?

Hehe. I can tall you how high. My 0.1 demo went to L8 - that's 12.4 lots before the margin call - and that is trading EU.

I have an EOB to put up, then I am going to code the trade level stuff here.

Just noticed my demo in work somehow ended up with just 1 GBPJPY trade. I have been getting occasional error alerts, I am presuming that the market moved too fast for the trade to be placed? I suppose this will be the problem with high volatile pairs. Anyway I have attached screenshot.
