You have enough money to last you a life time and fund the lifestyle that you require with enough to spare to pass on to you loved ones etc. So you just don't need to trade to make money. Would you still trade? Why or Why not?

I would, I really enjoy it and I think that if anyone is to succeed in this business they have to at least like it or most likely will fail.

No, emphatically!! Money is just a "means to an end", Not an end in itself.

Yes.

Define "didn't need". Have a chat with Warren Buffet over what is enough money. Then go to any third world country and speak with a person working over a dozen hours per day to support a bunch of kids.

We can agree that there will be a very wide difference in how one defines what is "enough".

Comes a point that if it's not done for the money, it's done for a sense of self-fulfillment and to work on philanthropic causes. That would be the case for me.

vote Jay Walker for Global president!

similarly, my answer is YES.
because to me, trading is a great mind exercise... a mind 'hobby' (money- & psych-wise, it's lucrative & very fulfilling, respectively, if done well)

Maybe the question should be:

If You didn't trade would you still need the Money?

Nah...I'd go and enjoy life and stop wasting it in front of a screen... The money is the prize at the end of the game... With no prize what would be the point?

The monies what we're all chasing right? I think if someone says they trade just for fun, then they're either new or lying

I would be happy to trade even of there was no need for the money. To be honest I dont have alot now but enjoy the simple things in life and have enjoyed travelling when it warrants. Simple life pleasures mean that I dont need to have the 'penis extensions' that so many self loving/absorb fake citizens seem to need. It is the pleasure of doing something that I enjoy, making choices and seeing the outcome. Win or loose it is a mind challenge.

I guess if I did have the money to end all money then I would take on the philanthropic role but I would rather do it on a personal level, perhaps even do something like the 'Secret Millionaire' and go out and seek people who are actually worth giving some money too.

It is the challenge though that I think keeps most going. Money is money and I dont think it should be the central role in trading. Just as in work, choosing a job just because the pay packet is large is pointless if you hate the job. More often then not you will either quit before long or you will spend more to fill the void created by that hate.

When you made 1.000.000.000 - it's hard to stop making money. And you can't make huge money just for making money. You can make such money when you do every day what you like. If you like trading and enjoy making money, you will never stop.
