By the way the return shown in the bottom left corner is for the year not for the week. I have managed to recoup half so far. Maybe by the end of the week I will be even. I went ahead and put Tallinex on two computers and set up the same pairs with different EA's.

John, yes, the magic numbers should take care of the trades not mixing up. All the magic numbers are different, just check, you know me... I mess up on those small things alot. LOL

I see what you mean. Today I was messing around with the trailing stop, I already have another version ready that deals with this LOL. So I am going to fix it so it will engage after the BE lock and only move up in gaps as indicated by the TrailingStopStep input, instead of instant increments as it does it now.

In the next version I will also provide an update that will allow the user to select an overall weekly profit report or an individual EA profit report. The legend will either have the overall weekly profit or it will show the weekly profit per EA, one line for each.

Also, please check the SL, it's set to 50 pips and the initial SL on the trades is 36, just like the JTS on both EAs.

Hi,

Sorry, let me explain.
I'm using the 3C and BOLOSO EAs, on both of them, as you have noticed from my set files, the SL is fixed and is set to 50 pips while the JTS is set to 36.
When an order is opened, it has a 36 pips SL instead of 50 pips on both EAs.
As a side note, I got two full stops today, one on each EA, account is still in profit (which is calculated a bit odd but I'll wait for your next release before assessing it).

Oh I see, when JTS is activated it takes over the SL and that should not happen. JTS should only take affect after the trade is in BE.

The profit is calculated as such:
For weekly progress:
Equity/(Balance When The Week Started)

For Profit since start of account (beginning balance):
Equity/(Balance when account started to trade).

You can change the beginning balance if you need to by changing it in Global Variables.
Hit F3 and change the value you see for Freebie_InitBal

I do hate SL. Looks as if there will be work on trying to increase profit on positive trades to make up for these huge SL's. How do you not use stop losses in the settings if the EA requires it. ( I highly don't recommend not using unless you are familiar with price action.)
I have only had about 5 of them and the wins almost caught up and then a SL kills the momentum. It get disconcerting when the SL close at 20 and the wins come in at 5, so to speak.

You want me to take the requirement off? It's there to avoid the zero divide error. One way would be to set the SL to 1000 pips. That essentially would be "no" SL.
You would then need to manually decide what lotsize to use. The risk percent lot calculation wouldn't make much sense and more than likely it would drive your lotsize down to the smallest size allowed by broker.

Let me know and I'll figure something out. For example the lotsize could be based on risk per pip move. That way the lotsize calculation would not be tied to the distance of the SL. The user can then select say 3000 pip SL... yet close the trade when it reaches 10 pips and still have the desired risk.

No Jess, apparently I am the only bitcher. I have reset my SL to 500 which would work out just fine. By the way I did recover with all this mornings' action all of my loss from the last SL within about 20 minutes. That was luck.

Ok John. But don't hesitate to let me know if we need to do something. We are at, what my mentor calls, "the pregnant moment". This baby is alive and it's about to be born and nothing can stop it. NO NO don't u dare think about the "A" word LOL. If we have to we'll do a damn C section LOL.

My eyes are burning red. In fact it's the first time that I have had a cold and non of it went to my chest. No hacking or coughing... but this time I just have this eyes full of sand! LOL. Anyhow no biggy, I am just taking it easy..

I plan to provide an update this weekend which will deal with the zeroLag... it turns out that it does have a delay, so I will take care of that plus there is an error on the TP set. It only affects you if you decide to set BE and allow the TP to stay. This is for v17. IT's v17 right? LOL. There is also a another minor error on the failed pivot but that does not affect operation, it only affects what is printed in the debug.

I, too, had had my share of SL yesterday, none recovered thus far.


And you should rest! Not plan another release!

The week started bad but ended well. The two live accounts are up $294.38. Both recovered from the SL. I quit the Boloso EA, frankly because I don't understand it and I don't want to take the time to understand it, not right now. 4Both these accounts are up over my deposit, with the only blight being the drawdown of trades I am holding.
I expect them to clear out the next two weeks. From my understanding Gold is expected to fall to 1207 next week and then rise to 1260 abouts, the next week and a half and then probably drop to 1131 thereafter. With this kind of movement I expect other pairs to be affected and hopefully in the right direction. So all in all, life is good.
I left my data open in the explorer for all to see, if interested.
Thnx for the update John. The boloso approach is really quite simple, but that's ok, go with what you know.

In my case the Boloso EA went totally automated this week. It set the trades up and then closed down all orders (open and pending) when the account hit 13% profit. This happened on both the live and demo accounts early Tuesday, like an hour after NY had opened.

As for the two 3C demo accounts, well, I did a little to much intervening on Sunday. I realized my mistake I was paying attention to the price movement at that moment instead of zooming out and noticing for example EURAUD was in a DOWN trend. If I had left those trades, Buy AUDUSD and Sell EURAUD alone... profit would of hit early Monday morning (before NY open) and I would of scored another 13% increase on each account. So what happened? Well after my messing around I left the EA alone and the market did its job. One the onda demo the equity basically hung around 3% for several days. For the Tallinex demo it fell down to -3% to -5%, it would hover between those two numbers also for several days. It wasn't until Thursdays close that both accounts fell into double digits. Since I saw 2 runners on each of the demo accounts running 3C I decided to leave them and see what happens.

But I will say this, next time, if I mess up the trades and I see equity at around 1% or -3% and it's like the 3rd day, I will close the account and call it for the WEEK! I would much rather have a -3% loss for the week than what you will see below .

So here is the run down of what happened this week (Apr 17- Apr 22)

Oanda Demo (EA: 3C version 8)
Started week with: $1450
Ended the week with: $1154.11
Profit for this week: - 17.7%
Overall Profit since start of EA(init bal was: $1092.65): +5.6%

Tallinex Demo (EA: 3C version 8)
Started week with: $6394.17
Ended the week with: $4217.28
Profit for this week: - 34.7%
Overall Profit since start of EA(init bal was: $5000): -15.7%

Oanda Live (EA: Boloso v2)
Started week with: $166.49
Ended the week with: $188.25
Profit for this week: +13%
Overall Profit since start of EA(init bal was: $500): -62% (yes!! getting closer LOL)

FXCM Demo (EA: Boloso v2)
Started week with: $66698.36
Ended the week with: $75400.30
Profit for this week: -+13%
Overall Profit since start of EA(init bal was: $50000): +51%

BTW in the last 4 weeks the Onda live account has gone up +66.5%
The account balance starting Sunday April 27 was: $113.01

I bumped into the Post http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...13#post8826313 where I lay out the intervention approach:
March 21, 2016:
"This week I plan to intervene.
If I see profit, I will close all trades and let the EA do its thing until I see profit again.
If I reach my goal for the week (10%) I will STOP the EA for the week
If I see a trade or trades where price is just going in the total opposite direction, I will close all those trades.
If I see a runner that shows up and it is over 100 pips, I will leave it alone.
if I see my overall profit is at about -6% I will close the EA for the week."

Interesting that I would consider a 6% loss... LOL and I think the first item is out. Since more than likely if we close with profit
the EA won't be turned on again.

So share your results, once we have some established approaches then we concentrate on MM and then we become what we are.

This is VERY INTERESTING.

I was looking at the Flash crash of May 2010. There is an interview with a data analyst... and what he found out about the data that he got from the company that started the big slide was very interesting. I sort of quote ".. they are using very sophisticated algorithms to trade. The only sold when price was going up..."
Isn't that freebie and freebie 3C? They catch price as it pops from a pivot? This is interesting.

Wud like to join in this thred and testing the EA, Spent 5 hrs reading the pages and tired of all pages, As per my understanding the BOLOSO EA is performing well so far i think, please could you provide some inght about the EA/post no to refer the details and latest version/settings/time fare to use .. will try too!

Welcome. Boloso is actually from another thread that the originator (Dredding started). http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=308231
Just read pages 1-3 on that thread, 1st page has the rules and the other pages are just for u to see examples. I have not coded the entire scheme of Boloso, so despite it lacking the rest of the rules it has done very well.

The other 2 EAs are part of this thread. The freebie EA v17 I think (LOL) is the last version based on Dreddings original idea. Freebie 3C v7 (i think) is a variation from the original. In reality it is more stricter than the original version, so less trades which also means less exposure. All u really need to read is the 1st 8 pages and then just come to this page. If you want u can start at page 333, that's were we started to mess around with an EA and indicator. You can see all the trial and tribulations LOL. In fact you will see when the 1st EA was making big with demo accounts LOL. Then when some of us placed the EA in live accounts BAM!! Well at least in my case I went fro $500 down to about $110.

About 5 weeks ago we had a break through in both boloso and the Freebie EAs. One thing that is key is that intervention helps alot. When I say intervention I mean when u see profit, you close all trades (open or pending) and shut down MT4. You don;t start trading till next Sunday. If you read the last couple of posts I mentioned that this week I allowed the EA to do it all. So automation is possible.

I am attaching the set file that I use. The only thing that is different is that I set the Percent Risk to 2%, and the Weekly Profit target to 5%. My settings are higher and thus risker (PercentRisk=5%, Weekly Target Profit=13%). PercentRisk is the risk u are exposing your account per trade.

One more thing, just because I reported that last week my EA version 3C was a fail does not mean that 3C is not working.
Like bosolo, 3C was on a role with 3 consecutive double digit profit weeks. Last week I messed the process up by intervening too much.
Like I mention in the post above (8134) if I had left the EA alone it would of reached 13% by Monday morning. I also learning this,
since I had messed up the EA progress I still had a chance to get out with +3% gain on my Oanda demo and -3% on my Tallinex account.
I could of easily of gotten out of the week with those numbers which perfect considering that I use a 5% loss risk per trade.

Jess, my hat is off to you for attempting such a high losss ratio as 5%. I am sticking with a set lot. After the first day and those big losses I reverted to the set lots and did very well. I guess the appropriate term for you is "yo de man".
UPDATES to all EAs and Indicators

Main updates:
1. Corrected TakeProfit. When SetBE_KeepTP Freebie EA will now keep the tarket profit at the TP u indicated.
2. Corrected Trailing stop increment. Both EAs will now increment the stop by the indicated step instead of incrementing it continually and should be after BE is set.
3. Added a NoPivot item. If you select Pivots=NoPivots well you are a dare devil LOL!! This is particularly interesting when dealing with the 3C EA, experiment.
4. Added a WeeklyProfitSetBE input. If u set this input (>0) the EA will wait till the percent of the profit has reached that level and then set an imaginary profit BE or +1%.
5. Added to the Profit legend the percent that the particular EA is showing for the week. Now you will see 3 things. The percentages of profit since the EA started, for the total of all trades during the week, and now for the individual EA.

Please let me know if this stuff is not working, in particular the Trailing stop and the WeekProfitSetBE.
Provided is an image with some notes on the new inputs.

Oh for you new guys/gals You don't need these indicator on the chart for the EAs to work. The indicators are the visual component for the EA. That way you can SEE where a trade should or should not have been taken.
