Just locked in some profit as per the strategy of moving price to break even + one once a new renko box forms. So no matter what happens now it will be a winner!

Well price pulled back and hit my stop loss, but I had some profit locked so I came out with a couple of pips in the bank. No worries.

Price again seems to be trying to change direction, but at the moment the indicators are showing that the downtrend will continue. Interestingly though, a pennant formation has come up, so I am guessing that price will squeeze and then pop out.

Now if only we had some way of knowing in which direction it was going to pop. Oh if only it was that easy ha ha!

Watch this space!

Last night I mentioned that when my trade finished, there appeared to be a pennant pattern forming and that price would most likely squeeze and pop. Check out what happened overnight in the attached pic. Price squeezed, popped, and dropped like a boss in the direction my signals indicated.

That would have been a nice pile o' pips if it hadn't have been in the middle of the night!

Thanks for the tip. But how do I get the BBMACD to overlap over the actual candlesticks instead of as a separate chart below the candlesticks? Maybe I need to find a different version of the BBMACD indicator.

Anyway, thanks for keeping us posted with the results of your waverunner system. How has it been faring so far against the naked renko system?

Cheers
RJ

Just set this re-entry trade off and then realised that the MACD histogram hadn't crossed the signal line. Oops. Any way, lets see how we go!

Dude, I think I misunderstood, sorry!

In the screen shots here, the dots on the main screen overlaid with the renko blocks are an indicator called Waverunner, which appears to be the same as another indicator called NonLagDot. Not sure if you can get the BBMACD on the main screen, although I will now attempt doing that as that would be sweet.....

I reckon it is working really well. I have had some good wins with it, and with the old "move stop loss to breakeven + one once a new block forms" money management, even trades that might have ended in a loss have at least scored a couple of pips. One thing I like is that with Waverunner you trade less which means that your exposure to the market is less. In posts 71 and 72 you can see the difference clearly in the pics I posted up. In a nutshell it looks like Naked Renko will give you lots of opportunities to trade, will give you regular-ish losers, but the when you win you enough to outweigh the losses. Waverunner gives you less opportunities to trade but has a higher likelihood of success. I guess it all comes down to your personality, preferences and risk appetite.

I like that Waverunner limits exposure to the market and gives you a good probability of a win. But having said that I love my charts being as naked as possible....

Decisions....

Off to bed now. Just put a 200 pips trailing stop on the Waverunner demo trade. Will see how it all turned out in the morning!

Ahhh, I get it now. Thanks for clarifying that bud!

Less trades but higher success rate? No problem with that! I've been backreading your older posts and I like what I see! You planning to go live with this in a couple weeks?

Last night my stop loss was hit so finished up with a couple of pips in the bag. I would have liked to have made more, but I was in bed so never mind! Better to win a couple of pips than no pips!

Price pulled back and hit my stop loss. I had some profit locked though, so nice end the week with another win.

Remember the other day when I said that one of the strategies that I came up with over the holiday break was called Connect the Dots?

Here is a pic of a Connect the Dots demo trade I have open at the moment. See if you can guess how it works...

This trade has gone well! Got 600 pips locked so pumped with the results so far. The trade is still going, but price is slowly pulling back to my stop loss so it might be all over soon....

Well my Connect the Dots demo trade has just ended. This looks like it is definitely worth testing some more. I scored 607 pips off this trade. Very happy with the results!

This one is going well. Have set a take profit at the recent resistance point and a stop loss as a safety net. Off to bed, we'll see how this turned out in the morning!
