I have amalgamated The Beast and Another Alternative Beast into The Beast; this version is in post 1 now, along with an updated user guide explaining what I have done.

chngster, there is nothing new in the trading logic, so you can either leave your versions as they are to continue your comparison, or you can use TB as originally intended by turning Primary_trades to false and SecondaryIsIndependent to true.

I have included Atr hedging with the latest version.

Good Morning Steve,
I just set up the new and improved Beast and noticed that when I ticked regular hedging to false and left ATR hedging at true I don't get a display showing I'm hedging......When I leave both at true I get the regular hedging display.....
Am I doing something stupid again?
have a great day

This is a bit of i & t dotting and crossing that I missed.

You turn hedging on, then use UseAtrHedging = true to override the earlier settings and make TB use Atr for hedging. Both UseHedging and UseAtrHedgingneed to be true. I have updated the display and user guide to reflect this.

Cheers

I am contemplating the next experimental version.

Ignoring the loud groans of dismay, looking at the code I realised that TB had no re-entry line drawn if users are trading it a la the original strategy, so I have added this.

That original re-entry line was drawn incorrectly; it was drawn from the Bid/Ask at the time the pending was sent, not from the pending price.

All this is fixed in post 1. I hope.

Steve,

I looked in the zip file for AEB; however files in here have not been updated since the 1st Nov.

Where is AEB living these days ?

BTW AEB has been kick arse this week. Lets keep AEB changes to a bug fix level only, no more enhancements needed IMHO.

Cheers,

This isnt the latest, but have to say, I am not totally unimpressed with the old version i've left running since 10/18. DD did get quite high a few times there (pushing about 40% i think), but it keeps on ticking.
Guess i'll leave it running

Up until now I have had hedging set to false, allowing recovery to do its job.
I now want to try with ATR Hedging to see what difference it makes.

I would prefer to know what to expect before I start rather than having to wait days or weeks for a hedge to be triggered and then find out by trial and error, so can someone please advise / confirm the following

a)TB opens a hedge trade for every primary trade opened ?

b)With Hedge Lot Multiplier set to 1 when a hedge trade is opened and price continues in the direction of the hedge this simply maintains the equity at the level it was when the hedge trade was opened and manual intervention is required to close the hedge and continue recovery ? ..... Will recovery automatically restart after the hedge trade has been manually closed ? ( if appropriate trade entry criteria is met of course ) .... I assume if yes, recovery will ignore any profit gained from the closed hedge trade and set BE based on the original primary and recovery trades ?

c)With Hedge Lot Multiplier set to default ( 2 ) when a hedge is opened and price continues in the direction of the hedge TB will close the hedge and its associated primary trade at BE automatically ?

d)As above, but after opening a hedge trade price reverses ( against the hedge ) and resumes in the direction of the original primary trade, closing out the original primary trade at profit .... what happens to the hedge trade ( in c this will be with an increased lot size ) running against us ? ..... Does TB
‘ hedge the hedge ‘ at some point, or go into recovery mode to trade out the hedge with appropriate increased lot sizes ? ... or is the ‘ failed ‘ hedge trade left for manual recovery / closure

If this is all explained somewhere here ( can’t find it ) accept my apologies ...... can someone please advise the post / link

Thanks in advance

Steve,

When criteria is met and pending trades are opened should these trades not remain fixed in position at that price level until iether triggered and opened, or a new high/low is formed requiring the sixth lines to be redrawn at which point the pending trades are cancelled ?

I have been noticing after pending trades are opened they keep getting deleted and then re opened ( or not ) at some pont after, this is without any new high/low being formed ... can’t see any particular reason / pattern that determines when or why they are deleted and / if re opened. This can happen many times on each order

Depending on price action there are many instances where pending trades are deleted and price then moves through the positions they should have been at and misses the trades

Don’t know if this is an MT4 thing or something to do with the EA code ?

I think it's the code... have the same problem and it didn't exist in the previous versions.

Another fine week for the original beast. $462 trading live with nickles(21 pairs). I'm taking only primary trades and waiting for RWB lines to be at extremes before turning EA on. I add another level manually at -200 pips and look for divergence on a 4H or daily chart before adding a third level. 3rd level has to be at least 200 pips from 2nd level. Going for 40 pips on L1 trades and only a small profit on any trades going to L2 or L3. Lowest margin level has been around 1100% since starting the beast Oct. 25th. using 50:1 leverage. thanks Steve and Mac

This will be one of those law-of-unintended-consequences thingys arising from amalgamating the original and alternative codes. I will have a look tomorrow.

Fantastic use of the robot and a great example of how an ea can be even better when used so intelligently. Thanks.

Steve, do you think its possible to have something coded - like a master page - upon which we could see ALL the pairs being traded, as toothman described, telling us the pairs on which condtions are met - i.e price above sixes AND RWB/TMA approaching area?

Dont worry i am not requesting that you code it.. but wondering if it is possible...

Exactly how it was intended to be used, as a framework for a strategy which suits your own style of trading.

Nice one .....

I had a look at the code to see if I could spot why TB is deleting pendings with such enthusiasm. It was looking at the gold lines for deletion-triggering movement rather than the magenta lines, so I have changed this.

I am not sure what difference this will make, as the gold lines should only move if the hi-lo changes. We shall see.

Looking in to the near future, I am wondering how much we should keep TB's activities as secret as we can from the criminals.

What I am wondering is this: instead of sending pending trades, should TB instead be waiting until the point at which a pending trade would fill? This would lead to the occasional trade being missed but would have the advantage of making our activities more opaque.

Any thoughts?

I bin thinkin. * ignores mockery and scorn pouring in over the ether *

Only an idiot would ignore a post like this. * ignores cries of "Why are you taking any notice then? *

I think I will code an experimental version to attempt to automate this. Any further requests, Toothy?
