Man, what a terrible day.

EU headed straight north in spite of the news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

Back in on CJ.

One of the things you learn trading JPY, is that when the pair goes into an aggressive trend the chances of a pull back are slim. Yesterday we saw the market pause to which there was a very nice shakeout late in the Asian session.

Just my personal, non trading related opinion is that JPY is running out of steam. I'm not expecting another massive move out of this run like we saw in March. UJ yearly average is something like 1500-2000 pips and right now its sitting at 3300. With that said I'm not sure if price is just going to stall out and go range bound for the rest of the year or if we will see any sort of retracement.

We have up trend in the BG but there were selling from the top so i thought about possible retracement, in Japan saw a pullback building resistant area (thats why i closed my buy position with 400 pips profit) I have got confirmation entry with weak buying bar for selling and then i just set possible target i didnt even need SL to trade because all the movement were predictable .... thats all, dont think so complicated ... trading is easy if you can read the chart correctly ... i see you are new here i suggest to read the book from Tom Willams "Master the Markets" to understand market dynamic ....

Timeframe : D1, H4, H1, M30, M15 .... well i dont have fixed TF to trade for preparation I will look always at higher TF to get an overview of the market movement (trend, retracement, etc), for entry i use sometimes H1, M30 or M15 but NOT lower than M15 ... thats not my stuff because for every single trade my minimum target should be around daily movement 50 - 100 pips or more if i see trending movement so depend on.

If you have small equity and want focus to trade lower TF like 5m then just do it .... the principle should be same on any time frame ... (but for me lower than m15 just too noisy) ... but there is also VSA Master here hiddengap he trades even on 3m tf ... maybe you can check his trades explanation in this forum and learn from it all great stuff ....

Forex-specific VSA question...

As intraday traders, is there a specific time/ultra-high volume signal that you wait for prior to analyzing price?

I am backtesting the overlap between the London Close and the NYC Open (approximately 7am-10am GMT-5). I usually start analyzing price starting @ 7am and ignore the prior price action. Perhaps that's part of the issue? As someone who has traded mostly stocks, I'm having trouble putting my analyses in context. i'm finding it hard AF to create a VSA context with no clear line in the sand delineating a start/end.

Should I be analyzing price action as soon as the Europe session starts, waiting for UHV on to enter the 5m chart or something else?

thats an easy question ... i would be happy to answer it actually ... the problem is i just realized that you ignore me since yesterday ... i dont know why maybe because in the last pic i didnt explain the reason why i took my trade although i gave a note to pay attention to my entry, someone with the basic VSA knowledge should easily understand it no further explanation needed (and if someone still dont understand the reason just put any question in the thread or pm me maybe i will then explain the reason like my trading before) .... hahaha but no problem Mate then i will let other trader answer your question .... maybe Anotan will answer it ...

i think i will long time off this time ... i will be back if i want to ... sorry guys and see you ....

happy trading ...

First of all, you don't want to make any hard and fast rules like this in trading. Market conditions and participants change and hard rules will eventually become useless. Governments (ECB/FED/BoJ) will not buy/sell currencies in the same manner as a big bank (Goldman/Barclay/Morgan).

As a side note, you're missing out if you're only paying attention to HV between certain hours. Rogue volume can be a great tell tale sign, rogue volume is a weird spike in volume at an odd hour. When you see a spike in volume during a normally low volume time such as between the Asia-London sessions or a few hours before the day rolls over.

Keep in mind where your climatic volume is, look back 3-4 days on h1 for volume that is higher than the previous few days. Generally you don't want to trade against climatic volume, but climatic volume has a way of knocking the market into a range, which could provide trades in both directions if you're inclined.

But for your original question about specific time, I like to look at the day as having 2 sessions the US session and the home session. The home session EU/GU obviously would be during London, and Asia for AU/UJ/UCad (Ucad is more or less the inverse of AU, which UC does respond well to Asia volume). Stick with the major pairs for now as you're looking back at charts.
