Holy Grail - Patience and Acceptance
Today markets seem to be somewhat cursed. Every single entry I did today caught SL while prices went nowhere. How do you guys avoid being whipsawed? Malcolm once said that he didn't like it when trades do not go into profit within minutes. My trades (about ninety percent of the time) stay around my entries quite long and then typically rush into SL or TP quickly. I would thus infer that my entries are too early, although adhering to the typical VSA triggers (NS/ND, tests).

Markets move different on bank holidays, primarily when it comes to price overshoots/spikes. Spikes tend to be more extreme in general.. Better to either add a rule to avoid these holidays, or adjust your system to it.

For JPY futures it's confusing. On the one hand, after that FOMC UHV bar on 1-hour chart price could not close higher than the high of that UHV bar, indicating bearishness. On the other hand, it could be forming a bullish flag.

P.S.
JPY futures is the inverse of USDJPY.

You are much more experienced than me so would apprecaite your opinion!

My thinking is this -

UJ has been bearish for the last 20 days, every time price pulls back it consolidates above key levels whilst MM add more short posisitons and is then followed by a big down move. This view has served me well in the last week.

Looking at the daily chart there is no more siginificant resistance zones that I can see until around 110.000, some over in the UJ discussion thread do not see any even until the 109.000 area

You might be right for HFT/MM but Professionals/smart money should be buying here who holds huge positions for the long term.


Grey lines are daily support lines and blue are weekly support lines.
lf it needs to cross and go below this area, it will have to spend 2- weeks in this area, or a gap down,
it is also 50% retrace of 7-sep to 3rd-nov daily chart top. and today's daily bar seem to be marked as no supply after the week closes.

I always thought MM are also SM but they do SM one better, yours is an interesting take on it.

I agree with your analysis but dont think we can use todays daily candle in our bigger picture because of it being holiday in the US its kind a one off low volume day, would you agree?

MM/SM/Professionals are more or less same thing,
When they are making the market on the intraday basis that's HFT (High-frequency trading) that's what I understand.
Usually, we ignore such things and follow vsa concepts as it is. but one can consider, that depends on you.

We have a trapped buyers at the top of the range, high vol bar of the Asian session.

Key Point to see if we will be trading below that volume, if we do, we will be looking for lack of demand, AKA no demand bars.

If we manage to go up and consolidate after the breakout, we will be looking for any long on a test or lack of supply to jump in.

Been bullish for quite a while, still above the buyers zone but you can see how supply is hitting price at the top, so lets see what it does and how price develop in order to try jump in the bullish train or the bears break and test the key area.

Price is pushing lower, and volume is going with it, we need to see if buyers come and absorb it or those bulls are out now.
