I was caught by surprise twice, the sudden spike two days ago and the sudden drop today because of the Fed discount rate hike,

it appears you are trading without a stop, dangerous unless you are trading at a very very small risk per trade.

I know it's dangerous, this is my first experience with such acute volatility.

How many pips stop do you recommend as a standby?
what do you mean standby? a stop??? IMFHO never risk more than 1% on any trade. I sometimes do a 1.5 % but that is just because I can but yeah seriosly you are leveraging too much.

where is your stop loss?
you are talking too small profit and leting the loser run.
