Anyone experienced better results with a true ECN broker?

There are tons of threads of people saying bucket shops are terrible and that they stop hunt, etc etc. Well has anyone actually made the switch from a bucket shop to a true ECN like Currenex and realized improved results with their trading? The ultimate example would probably be from someone trading with an EA which statistically had a success rate of X% which then went to X% + Y% when they moved to an ECN. Y% can't be negative or zero.

Can anyone find an example of this? To me that would seem like some evidence of the junk bucket shops acting against our best interests..

Well, to respond to the post above, I would agree that learning how to trade is the most important thing to do, but to assume bucketshops aren't actually acting against your best interests would just be ignorant.

I can share a couple of things relating to your question. First, before ODL closed up their US operations, they banned accounts that were using FAP Turbo. So in that scenario, the "cry babys" had no choice but to find another broker, and obviously being at ODL (a bucketshop) wasn't going to work.

I never used FAP Turbo, but I did use a similar EA that traded EUR/GBP (it TOTALLY kicked butt for a while, like $30K profit for me, but then fell away). I used it at FXDD (bucket), then moved it to ATC Brokers (ECN). My reasons for doing that were FXDD raised the EG spread to 9, and ATC had it at like 2.4. Trade by trade execution was better at ATC, but obviously the lower spread helped.

Your question kind of assumes that the comparison is apples to apples, and it really isn't. But, in my opinion at least, with everything else being equal, you're better at an ECN than a bucketshop (but, everything isn't equal!! lol).

I have 1 bucket broker and 1 ECN. During certain conditions the bucket is better; during others the ECN is. I think you need to take that kind of approach...

the way they think is to never admit fault take blame for their trading decisions, always someone elses fault , broker, system, whatever... NEVER their fault, never never never.... use a robot in order to shift blame away from themselves.... damn thing lost my money.. never admit fault never never never
