My money in perfectmoney account didn't show up...?

Hello,

This is one of my first posts here on the forum. I was going to deposit my money in with a trading platform by the name of instaforex.com...

On their deposit website, one of the companies they list as use for depositing is called...perfectmoney.com

Now, I'm the idiot that wire transferred the $2000 to them and I'm fully aware of this. Then I started to get a funny feeling and did some digging online, I've found that a few people do say that they are a scam and a couple also say they've been using them for a few years with no problems.

I've tried calling their customer service line in Panama and the phone number says it's disconnected.

I really feel like I'm gonna get screwed, is there anyone here that has used Perfectmoney.com before?

Is there anything I can do to get the money back if they are in fact a scam?

Thank you so much for any advice, it is so hard to find a solid honest broker in this industry. I tried to use another broker/platform before by the name of Dewitt university and had problems before also.

Strange. You are in the U.S and you have bypassed all legitimate U.S brokers to open an account with a russian broker that has a scam finding against it and you are funding through what appears to be by your own admission an unreliable company for money transfer. And you have previously traded with a practically unknown 'broker' by the name of Dewitt university.

Could your story be for real? And is there any way to get you to take any more risks with your money?

You're right. I am an idiot if I do not get this money back but please be a little understanding man. I haven't ever traded currency before with any luck and I just thought that I could trust the company.

I have now opened an account with Interbank FX and if I get the $2000 back somehow, that is who I will be trading with.
My great grandmother just passed away about a month ago and she left me a little bit of money, I was just trying to do something smart with it and it's obviously not what I did.

I also had not found this forum until about a week ago, as soon as I saw the amount of members I knew it would be better...I had been reading off of forexforum.net and they have ads all over their site for instaforex(keep in mind that I had not found this forum yet)...

So for the last month, I've been trading on the demo account with Instaforex, I got really used to their platform again as I'm sure you know how it is to just like the software that you're using.

Couple that with the fact that they allowed me to trade Gold along the the currency in the same platform, I just screwed up.

I also didn't really realize that I was "bypassing" all of the major US brokers...I have a TD ameritrade account that I use for all of my stocks etc and didn't even really think to ask if I could trade currency through them.

Again, after finding this forum...it makes it A LOT easier for the beginning trader to know what to keep his eyes out for. I was just unfortunately about 3 days to late.

And yes, I did get scammed before but not in this way. The prior situation that I was referring to was where I paid for this guys charts and signals and a chat room for like 500 dollars one time fee plus like 100/month...he was never really in the chat room, ended up raising the price and canceled the signals....

Another thing, I didn't really realize that the bank was out of the country until I walked into my own bank to make the wire transfer. I only saw the bank name of Wachovia which I knew was a US bank...turns out they were the intermediate bank or something and that might be my only out.

Anyway, I'm sorry to vent but I really just don't want a reputation as a liar on this forum or any.

I also could use some help or advice from anyone who has any knowledge on this topic.

I'd be calling and emailing perfectmoney several times a day. I'd then start calling officials in the UK, the datacenter, and anyone I could to get this resolved.

Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but let your experience be a warning to others.

I hope this post doesn't get deleted by the mod here, but there is another forum, forexpeacearmy.com that you can take a look at. They have a dispute resolution service that is free to use, and they sometimes can help you recover lost money. Also, there are loads of consumer reviews there for every forex service, broker, etc. under the sun.

Sounds like you were going through Steve Dewitt before. If you had read what the reviews say about him on the other forum, you'd never have touched that guy with a 10 foot pole.

My worst vice is advice...

There is a financial show I watch from time to time and I remember an episode regarding inheriting money. The advice was basically to put the money away for 6 months to a year before touching it. The idea is that it gives you time to really think about how to put it to best use from a more emotionally neutral position.

My advice is not to use ecurrency, nor to keep any amount of money in them. Just use bank wire. Sure it takes a little longer and there are higher fees, but at least you are dealing with properly licenced and properly run companies. Most ecurrencies are likely run out of someone's bedroom.

What is the datacenter?

I have been sending messaged through their site although as of today, they don't have an apparent email address or working phone...

I searched and figured out what the datacenter is. I'm working with my bank now and they seem to think that I'm going to get the money back.

Guys,

If it does end up coming to this...what officials could I get in contact with who have any type of oversight or authority over international banking(bank wire transfers)?

I've been searching around and it's tough to find a number to call...I don't need anyone to go and search for me but if you know the name of the place I should be looking to or anything helps.

Has anyone else here been scammed before on a wire transfer? (domestic or international)
