Do you exit a trade simply when it has reversed 50 pips on the opposite side of the MA?

As an example, as I write this (10:30pm US CDT), the price is 229.97 and the MA is 229.87. So would you close your long and go short at 229.37?

Almost correct. Off by only one PIP. I would set my short at 229.37 but would set the close for the long position at 229.38. I separate the Stop and Market entry order by 1 PIP...

Attached is EA based on a variation of the tkimble method in this thread in using 2 Moving Average indicators. One for High price and one for Low price.

1. The Hi/Lo MAs has Period, Method & Price as inputs. This allows testing of MA variations.

2. Buy entry in on 2 variables. Current MA is higher than previous bar (indicating uptrend) and previous bar Low{1} is higher than current MA Hi. Sell entry is Current MA is lower than previous bar (indicating downtrend) and previous bar High[1] is lower than current MA Lo.

3. Buy exit is when current Low[0] is lower than MA Lo. Sell exit is when current High[0] is higher than MA Hi.

3. Stoploss is auto set to MA Lo for buys and MA Hi for Sells.

You should not put a lot of credence to backtests results. For me, Demo testing has been the only reliable results. I plan to start Demo testing this EA today.

For your critique, attached are 3 months backtest for gbpjpy, eurjpy and gbpusd with $10,000 deposit and Lot size set with Money Management on 5% of equity. It seems to indicate a preference for gbpjpy, but eurjpy and gbpusd had positive 3 months results.

gbpjpy - profit = $18,630
eurjpy - profit = $ 6,377
gbpusd - profit = $ 1,507

As stated in this thread, this method prefers long trending pairs. To maximize results, I ran optimization test. Attached is set files I used for each pair tested.

I hope the EA works near the same in demo.

Have fun. As usually, the enduser assumes full liability for this EA's performance.

Do you have a modified version of the EA to trade TKimble's revised method of using only one LWMA and exiting at one pip beyond the top or bottom +/-50 pip band?

I'd be very interested to know your reasoning for the 1 pip difference.

The 1 PIP difference insures that my orders will be filled and not offset to a neutral position.

Thanks Ksucatfan. I am still not sure I understand what adjustments are being made each hour, unless it is to check where price is. I will keep reading the posts in hopes this fog lifts.

You adjust your SL and SAR each hour to the moving average -50 (+50 if you are short).
Interestingly enough if you use 4 Hr Stochastics at 5,3,3 you will find an extremely interesting correlation to the buy and sell points for the trend with the 25 LWMA +/-50.

I use multi-time frames of 1 Day, 4 hours and 30 mins Stochs applied to this method with extremely good results.

The 25 LWMA gives you a good idea where you are at in the trade. The 30 min Stochs allows you to optimize the trade. The 4 hr Stochs is your enter and exit signal. The Day stochs is the long term trend to follow.

Hi TK,

I use PremiereTradeAI Software and it does not have a selection for a linear ma. Would the volume weighted or exponential weighted ma work with your system? Or is there a way to calculate the linear?

I am using your daily and this new hourly system. I would like to thank you very much for all of your systems. That is very kind and gererous. I still sit out when I should be in and get out before I should, but I am gaining confidence. This is because, with your systems I don't get my pip legs knocked from under me when I have a loss.

The bottom indicators are from the indicator I put in my post; the mulitiple time frame stochastic at 5,3,3. Top is 30M, one is 4H and the other is 1D.

Profits are a by product of Money Management moreso than trading system. This trending system is more profitable because of the weekly monetary goals that I have established in the Money Management model that I have previewed on this thread...
