XAUUSD (Gold H4)

The price broker KS (showing bears weaken) and it gives us clue that the price can retest the cloud. As you can see the cloud is in the resistance level area. There we can look for a sell signal.

By analying like this we can make a decision based on 2 criteria below

a. Stand aside , wait for a confirmation signal
b. take an entry either to buy or sell

for the case of Gold, i choose option a that is stand aside now and wait for a confirmation signal.

Time frame H4 is my option for my full work time that does not allow me to see chart very often.

Other can use the other time frame and use other strategy.

That analysis is one of the many strategies using Ichimoku. But, the one strategy i using now is the combination of PA and Ichimoku.

Hoping this analysis can cheer this thread more.

is this thread still active? Learning Ichimoku for some while now. Patience is king...

I've played around with it lately. I find myself waiting for a pullback to the kijun to avoid the drawdown. I think a way around it could be entering half a position at break and averaging in the other half on retracement to get a better entry price. I usually trail my stops with crosses of the tenkan or kijun being exit signals rather than the set 30/50/100 pips targets. I find the 1H chart too labor intensive around the clock. I appreciate the perspective this system has given me on ichimoku though.

I'm working on a system now day trading MNQ on a 30 sec chart where entry and exits are a cross of tenkan. Working well so far. I haven't had much luck with strictly mechanical systems that don't take price action, etc, into consideration.

I trade the H4 with Ichimoku exclusively. I avoid drawdown by looking at the daily chart (If cloud is red = only sell positions, and if green = only buy positions) and avoiding pairs with upcoming news...

i can't because of too much lines to change
(it's possible but it will take too much time)
but you can show 2 or 3 different periods on your screen
5 15 & 1H
for example 5/15/60 or 30 60 240 etc...for the same pair
