Multiple Time Frame Analysis is very powerful. It tells a story.

Here's a good pullback trade last week on gold. It was playing between the daily TS & KS. Risk reward around 4:1.

Glad to hear from you mate.

That system you had always been using is as good as clearing any support / resistance before the "GO"!

Hello everyone,
Now that unfortunately ichi360.com is gone, I am looking for the currency strength indicator Asher was using in his very last posts (Trading and dscpline & EURUSD – 8th March 2012). His indicator had a very strong correlation with D1 TK crosses on 5, 20, 40 ichimoku settings. I am pretty sure his was not one of the CCFp posted here. I asked him on his website but never got an answer . Does anyone know what I am talking about ?

Has anyone also been in contact with him recently ? Any plans to start again his fantastic website ?

Thanks

An example i am looking at right now is USDSGD daily chart. Chikou is about to pop out as strong bearish. Also looking at CZKHUF H4 bullish cloud breakout. Chikou is also about to pop out as strong bullish. Till then, I'll sit tight with these pair in my radar watch list.

Not much opportunity for trending yet but they are setting up.

Chikou peaks can also be used to determine support & resistance. The more peaks it touches this level, the stronger it is.

Attached image is an example of the trading range for USDJPY H4.

Gerald, always great to read your posts and see your analysis

Out of interest, which charts do you check the S&R on?
Do you look for the levels on your trading chart, or on the higher timeframe?
Also, as well as Chikou Peaks and flat-bottomed and flat-topped Kumos, what else do you use to determine S&R?

I am currently trading with Monthly, Weekly, Daily and 4 Hourly charts - finding the trend on the higher ones, and finding entries and stops on the Daily and 4 Hourly charts

Here's to many green pips

I will always look for a setup on my trading time frame. Then I will look at higher timeframe to reconfirm my setup.

I look for flat SKB, flat KS and chikou peaks for S&R. My stops are always some buffer off the KS.

So base on the USDJPY H4 chart, where do you think the market will breakout? On the upside or downside?

Gerald,

Thanks for your advice about S&R - very helpful

I am trading the other way around - looking for trends on the Weekly and Daily, and then moving down to look for my setups on the 4 hourly
Once I can become consistent at this, then I may move to the 1 hour TF but no lower - I want to have a life, be patient, and avoid the noise of the lower TF charts

Based on the fact that the Monthly is above the KS (even though it is below the Kumo), the Weekly is above the Kumo and the KS, the Daily is above the Kumo and the KS, and the 4 hourly is above the Kumo and the KS, I will only be looking for longs on the USD/JPY
The only negatives that I can see are that there are a couple of Chikou peaks on the 4 hour chart which may limit profits as they are acting as strong resistance

Look forward to hearing your analysis

A

Glad that you agree with me (or that I agree with you )
(I am also happy that weekly and monthly are bullish too!)

Out of interest, where are you looking for a potential entry point on USDJPY?
Above the Chikou peaks on the 4 hour and Daily charts?

And am I correct in thinking that you look at S&R areas mainly on your trading timeframe?

Huge thanks

Austin

Just been looking at the USDJPY H4. Chikou span has just come through the price and paves the way for a nice break out. There is a clear resistance point at the 8280 mark though.
GeraldFX where have you entered, you said you have got in off a bounce off the TS?

Yes, Daily TS - 82.22. Not H4 TS.
