I hate to brag, but I must.
A year ago January, I started trading live with a live acct at GFT. I started out by risking way to much on trades, was trading news on ocassion and made a few good trades. But as newstrading took a dive, I ended up with about $400 profit on a $10,000 starting balance after 4 months. At one point I was up by more than $2500.
I started to trade charts and pretty much ignore fundamental data. I ran into a group here on Forex Factory and began trading within a group outside of this forum. It was almost exclusively a charting group using altered indicators. For some time, even scalping was good. I did extreamly well for about 5 months, even considered quiting my full time 75K a year job and trade full time.
Things changed and scalping became so stressful that I started to trade technically using the indicators and custome settings. As teh market (USD/JPY and EUR/JPY) changed their colors, I started changing the settings on the indicators. I had traded with the group, but was doing well without joining in, so I was "deleted" from the group as a user.
I kep trading and for several months was doing ok, turinging $10K into $22K in about 7 months.
Sometime at the end of the 9th month, I started making longer trades. Sometimes risking more than I should. Sometimes not even looking at my trades for a few days at a time. I was busy at my full time job. I don't know why I started trading like that, but I just did.
I don't know if I am just lucky, probably so. But as I continued to trade 2 and 3 day trades, I suprisingly did very well.
Just today I got checks from 2 of the 3 brokers I use. I'm liquidating all accounts with the exception of one, with the original $10K in it. I am going to take a break in trading for about 6 months and enjoy myself for awhile.
How wel did I do?
$177K
I'm done. I'll see you again in 6 months. I just needed to say I told you so to a few people out there.
Warm regards,
Bristol
