That was underwhelming considering my broker told me via email that they will froze the platform for such a volatile new (this is very rare)

Once upon a time, life was not like it is today. One day soon, life will no longer be as it is today...

I have to stop gambling. I got burned real hard by oil.

Don't worry, you are one of the most successful traders here. In which year you started to trade? when did you make your very first trade? I'm curious to know how many years you've been in this game

Best advice for recurrent account losers and marginers:

Deposit 500$ to a 1000$ and rebuild your account... don't ever deposit more.

Like that, you won't throw you life saving away!

Even if you reduce the 1000$ to 100$, struggle with it and make it grow big.

That will discipline you and teach you good lessons...that you must learn. Just refuse to deposit more.

The re-deposit is a mistake you can't make.

or learn normal trading and learn trading basics. when you only trade in news its normal that your risk is extrem and the win is smaller against with normal trading strategies and same time you have the much higher risk.

but that you tell the people they dont should invest much money in such a very risky strategy is at least a fine move what i missed in former times.

in this style news trading (very big news) i dislike most:
- very risky in big news because of slippage
- not very scaleable because spread and slippage increase extreme in big news with much bigger order amount
- less win then normal trading strategies with much higher risk (ok, depends on strategy)
- less easy to calculate the result, more luck neccessary

most lose on the end more then they won.
but many traders have this effect, so maybe nothing special for news trading.

Has anyone traded WTI or Nat gas during an inventory release? I'd like to take a position on Wed or Thur based on where I think the numbers will come in but don't know what typical slippage is in this scenario. I know the risk is there but considering whether the reward is worth it...

The FF calendar will give you the previous release dates for that news. Scroll back on your screen and look at them and see what they did.
