Cool. Some improvements since the beginning of that thread ?
Divergence are working very well.

Question : Once you spotted a divergence, when do u you enter ?
- When stochastics are going the same way than divergence direction ?
- At the second low candle ?

Did you set your SL to the last High candle (in case of bearish div) or last Low (in case of bullish div ?)

CCI Divergence is a simple system. I am impressed by the rule saying that the pattern only valid above / below the 100 line. I will say this is something that you should be playing around with. Play with 120, 150 and see what happen.
When in doubt, wait it out.

problem here is, what if cci on 5m shows divergence one way, but cci on 15m shows divergence in the opposite direction ?

which way do you trade then ?

Very simple: Don't enter a trade.

You should enter trades only when you have at least two Time Frames, with the same signal. Or more if you want to be more secure.

I personally don't like to use the CCI this way....I use it with the hooks when its too low (-100 or more) or too high (+100 or more).

Hope I helped..
Best Regards!

  1. I have my win ratio more than 65%
  2. You can try longer CCI - 20, 25
  3. Divergence 3 or 5 min + longer TF with PA patterns is good way

I had an indicator that signaled CCI divergence, but it was too many little ones. Wasnt' sure how to change it to only signal major divergence.

I'm testing it here, it looks very good, we could take it back and try to improve and also make the most active idea again.

Attached is an image of divergence between Price Action (Region 1) and 14-CCI (Region 2) as determined by divergent Trend Lines.

The Trend Line in Region 1 is rising until broken by Price.

The Trend Line in Region 2 on 14-CCI slopes down as determined by cionnecting descending peaks.

The short trade is confirmed by the LSMA on the Zerol-Line on14-CCI as well as a Mittens trade (144-CCI has 3-peaks with the center one lower than the 1st and 3rd peaks - Also called a Head and Shoulders Pattern). The 3-Peaks are proceeded by a Peak so drawing a horizontal line at the bottom of the lowest point of the 4-peaks provides an entry when that is broken. It's broken on the same bar that signals the lower peak on the 14-CCI.

Shorting at 6344 and covering at 6892 creates a MFE of 52-Points or $1,040 per contract (I prefer futures, but this is equally applicable to Forex). Anytime I exceed $1,000 profit per contract on a single trade, my stop is extremely tight.

Comments and/or requests for greater detail are welcome.

I believe this thread is under used but it is probable that few traders are using CCI divergence.
To those who are using it I attach a very good MT4 CCI 'divergence predictor' which importantly shows the next upper timeframe zero cross in a yellow background colour - VERY useful.
In the 5m EurCad chart attachment it shows where the 15m CCI-55 has gone above zero by indicating a yellow background on the indicator.
It ALSO shows divergence in this 15m upper timeframe with background colours on the indicator showing red for bearish divergence and lime for bullish divergence. The bearish divergence colour is specific to a black chart background.
Happy, prosperous and healthy New Year to all good people.
Regards
George

Hi Jdrower, your knowledge about CCI is impressive, so please forgive me a complete newbie question, I would like to study CCI to apply it as a side confirmation to my trades, is there a good book, or resource to start with? It might be (I would prefer) something advanced,I like to reverse engineer things, it helps me to understand deeper. Thank you in advance.

If I may to add something to your chart - do you take trades in the direction of a higher time trend or do you have anything you need on this chart?
