THANKS for sharing this!

In your honor, I've created an indicator.

Attach it to a chart, then click through the different timeframes, and if conditions are set up in that timeframe, it will give the alert.

It will give an short alert when:

50 stoch is below the signal line
20 stoch is below the signal line
5 stoch is above 60

Gives long alert when:

50 is above signal
20 is above signal
5 is below 40

It will only give the alert one time per bar.

Hope you all can use this on this great strategy. If you don't like the 40 and 60 levels, it's easy to edit. I've given the source code, and the numbers 40 and 60 are only used once in there, just go in and change them.

Wow, this is AWESOME! THANK YOU! I tried to set it up so that I could also have the alert email me. What I did was:

At the very top, under your datetime, I added:

extern bool EmailAlert;

I'm not a programmer, but I was hoping that would be so I could make that input true or false. Then in your code, I added on the very next line below your "PlaySound" line, but still within the {} of the if statement of both long and short alerts:

if (EmailAlert==true) SendMail("Trade Alert!", "Check Your Charts!");


My question is, is there any way I could put either in the subject or body of the email this part:

Symbol()," ",Period()," min"

The commas make it too many parameters for a SendMail function, so I don't know how to do it??? Any idea???

Also, I was thinking of having an external bool of SoundAlert too so I can choose which to swich on or off (1 or both or neither).

What do you think of the suggestions??? I'm not trying to step on any toes or anything, and I really appreciate your efforts!!! Thanks again, this helps a lot!

I've been using this technique as a confirmation to enter trades with my other technique (a very modified version of the Pouria method on these forums). This'll help with not having to stare at the charts forever waiting ...

Hmmm, maybe I can add alerts to this same indicator for that too and have one bundle to alert me ... I'll have to work on that this weekend maybe ....

I'm sure I'm doing it right, but I'm not getting any #$%##$ emails. Maybe because the trading platform is shut down? I dunno, it's giving the alerts just fine, it should be sending emails, too.

It's trying to send emails but it says I need to authenticate my email server....

If you're currently set up to get emails, this should work for you. Let me know.

I'm using the B-Line system from more than 4 years.
I suggest not to change the original parameters, they are quite perfect.
What you really need is thick bars, not minute bars. A thick bar is a bar comprised of, say, 100 thicks. This is waaaaaaaay better than minute bars, the signals are MUCH CLEARER. The system itself it is meant to be used on thick bars, and was developed on thick bars. Now it is being used on volume bars by buffy, but not on minute bars.

Of course one have to trash that joke of mt and use a serious charting app.

for anyone thats been practicing this for sometime i recommend u move to a live account and trade 1 cent a pip. might sound small but not only ur practicing with real fear and real money but u can also make some money

Good point. I demotraded a system for 6 months. Never made it to regular profits in a real account while I did very good in the demo. Now I went to this system a few weeks ago and try to implement it on a mini account. My main problem is sticking to the rules. Most bad trades come from "chasing the market" when it already moves ....

If you can really trade 80% winners like stated earlier in this thread then you should be real trading immediately ....

I aim at 60% winners and a profit to loss ratio of 1.5 to 1. On a $25000 account (no I do not have that amount for trading yet...) the POR is zero (according to Le Beau and Lucas in Computer Analysis of the Futures Martket.

Looks good and works well except 2 small/quick things that I noticed and fixed.

Your alert for the "long" setup actually said "short" ... very minor there.

The other thing was you never put the if statement in for that email alert. So that extern bool was never checked, another quick and easy fix

Other than that, it looks GREAT and seems to work well Email works as soon as it's setup. Thanks again for your efforts!

Hello all,

While trying to implement this system I needed a summary of what has been said in this thread. I need a written down system so I can stick to the rules. I will PM the document to Boxingislife. I want his permission to post the document. Maybe he is willing to review it at first.
Furthermore I used, of course, comments of members of FF. If any one has a problem with publishing his ideas without referencing I can not post the document. So I will wait for reaction on this post till next wednesday.
The structure of the document will be as follows:
Introduction

The setup of the system

Taking trades

Advices

Stops and Exits

Which pairs

Overbought and Oversold

Multiple time frames

The thought sequence

Bundling of Stochastic

Examples of good entries

Examples of bad entries

Maybe the document can be used to point to when newbies arrive at this thread. I think it will speed them up in getting to know the system.

Hi Boxingislife,

I trade in my real account and the charts I post are the charts I am trading from. I usually update them after I close the trade with information about the number of pips I made. I admit that sometimes I forget to do this. I feel that this can be helpful for newbies to give them a feel for the relationship between the charts and the reality of the pips that can be made from them. I would have appreciated someone doing this when I was starting.

I have been trading a variety of this system for over a year, so no need to trade on demo. As long as I have at least 2 charts which agree (I prefer adjacent time frames) then I almost never fail. If I have 3 time frames agreeing, then I increase the lots.

That is very promising. How do you cope with 'emotions'? Does it need a very patience person to reach these levels of success? I keep having troubles while reacting to the movement of the market although the best entry is already gone. Have you ever had such problems?

I would be glad if you would eleborate on this. It would help me I guess.

Hello,

In order to get familiar with the system and find a method to stick to the rules I developed a matrix in which I can judge the phase of each timeframe.
From that I try to say what signals I should be looking for in a certain time frame. Then when I think a signal occurs I have to fill a blank sheet to be sure all criteria are met to enter a position in the particular time frame. Working this way I hope to eliminate entering trades because I think I see something or because I think something will happen. Like I read somewhere: "Trade what you see, not what you think".

I enclosed the sheet and will let you know within the coming weeks wether it works for me. Feel free to use it also or comment on it.

I think that everyone has had problems (or is having problems) with chasing the market. The question always comes down to how late is too late? No real answer to that one. This problem usually arises when there has been a 'dry' period with no really good trades to take. Then there is a tendency to jump at a trade which is borderline rather than really good. Trades tend to come in bunches, lots of good ones at once or only bad ones.

It does require patience and discipline. I still sometimes violate my own rules for what appear at the time to be good reasons, but in retrospect were clearly not. I often wonder at my decisions at those times.

The most important things to put up in large letters on the wall for me are:

1. follow the rules, follow the rules, follow the rules
2. it is more important to avoid a losing trade than to miss a winning trade
3. there will always be other good trades

These are the things I keep trying to remind myself of. As long as I do those 3 things, I usually to great. When I violate them, then well......

It does take patience, and remember that trades are winners or losers based on your time frame and drawdown tolerance. You can trade the micro movements (scalping), the short term movements of 10 to 50 pips, the medium term movements of 50 to 100 pips or the long term movements of 100+ pips. As in all matters, the greater the potential reward the greater the potential risk, therefore if you are willing to weather substantial drawdown (what would be losing trades for people trading shorter time frames) you can have winners for substantial pips when most are losing.

Personally I lack the patience for position trades. I prefer day trading. I rarely get more than 100 pips from a trade, but I also do not need huge stop losses, and if I follow my rules strictly I rarely have losses.

I do not know whether any of this will help you, I hope so. These are things I think about all the time and try to keep reminding myself of.
