Threw in the towel for 2024. Was only gonna trade on Thursday then let running trades close. Got a decent surprise when my remaining trade closed profitably so I just exited the next trade at breakeven and paused the algo. I'll resume trading Jan 2nd, 2025. Merry Xmas all!! - Looks like I got my Darwin gift and will close 2024 Dec in the GREEN barely (in any event its good for another 30K + 60K currently).

Darwinex is the looooong game. Finished and tweaked my algo this year and laid the foundation for hopefully consistent earnings in 2025. Trading is disabled until Jan 2, 2025 so this is my EOY algo snapshot. Hoping to make it to Gold by Feb/March. Also <1% to activating 100K allocation. My algo is complete for the foreseeable future and next year I'll be testing secondary currency pairs to trade using it. Full Steam Ahead!

Same here...alltogether very satisfied - the best prop there is . No worries at all.

You're welcome but the real thanks should go to Sampat as he was the one that mentioned DZero. I was interested in Darwinex 7 years ago but they gave up on trying to offer services to the US because of the immense cost and all of the regulatory red tape.

Not a great month for me, but thanks to everyone who mentioned DZero.

I managed to come back in December from -3.84% to finish in green. Phew.

HNY.

I'm very interested in using Darwinex as a broker (not trying to get funded - not yet at least). After doing quite a bit of research, they do seem to have a good reputation (ie I haven't heard of any horror stories in terms of withdrawing funds etc)

I'd appreciate any feedback positive or negative for Darwinex as a broker for a live account. (execution, spread, swap, fees, deposits, withdrawals, customer service etc)

I'm based in France FWIW.

They're a honest broker but to me they dont have the best trade conditions. Spread is wider that I would like. I copy-trade into my Darwinex but wont run my algo ON Darwinex because the spread would prevent some trades from executing. I always trade my source accounts on DEMO for perfect no-hassle execution and copy-trade to my LIVE account (even DZero demo to demo). Darwin is just a OK broker in that regard (MUCH better than Oanda I must say and they wont cheat you/freeze the platform, etc.).
5th allocation in a row granted keeping me at 90K for now. New rating drops down to 77.44 so already high enough for next allocation. Lots of failed traders dropping out moves me up to 337th overall. Top 5%. No big deal for alpha male expo

LOL!! We have similar stats. I'm also on the allocated train too. Its also a GREAT place to have a good month. I played with the forecast tool before the month flipped and almost every percent gain after 2% bumps allocation by 10K to 15K. (using the forecast tool now wildly overestimates since everyone's monthly gain is 0% right now). Hoping to activate my 100K (<1% to go) and break my 30K ceiling this month!

I'll take this graph back cause this is definitely not how a darwin gets paid as the dd's are heavily punished and the risk engine cuts you down very quickly but restores itself over months and months all the while you pay a sub.
Then they wonder why so many traders cancel their accounts.
hayseed said 'own your dd' or something like that but would you want to pay subs for months to dig yourself out of a dd or would you rather start fresh with a new account and use your experience gained to avoid the mistakes that ended you up in a deep hole?
As Darwinex admits, many traders dump and restart and that's because it makes sense.
I emailed Mr. Juan Colón and invited him to a challenge. Let's see if he accepts.

The challenge is that I will clear all trades from my current account and then I will sign up with a new account. Then I will make sure both accounts are operated exactly the same..maybe using a copier or whatever. After a couple of months, the new account will be in much much better position as far as how the risk manager trades it.

That will show that
1- It is hard to dig oneself out of a historical dd even if it is minimal or intraday.
2- Punishment levied by the risk manager for such 'infractions' are harsh and long lasting.
3- The risk engine method/formulas favors Darwinex because it allows them to collect more subscriptions.
4- It makes sense to dump an account in DD for a new account.

Let's see if he accepts.
